    Fish Quiz?

Oh gosh I'm not good at this... Someone else can have a go 8) I'm only good when it comes to answering questions
  4. OK another floofie update; Yesterday some visitors came round so I grabbed the floofies out to show them. Sadly one of them decided to make a dash for the air and jumped out of my hands so quickly I didn't have a chance to stop it. I returned it to the nest box and continued to handle the rest of the floofies, then put them back. When I check on the one that jumped later on, it was dead &c:ry RIP little floofie On the bright side, at least I still have three... But four was better :tears:

  12. Waht do you mean by 'a good bubbler'? If you mean air pump with an air stone, that provides no CO2 at all. You need to make up a CO2 mix in a juice bottle. There is already a thread on here about DIY CO2. Phoenix44's tank is 200 liters, 120x45x45cm I think... Anyway, he has 4 54watt T5HO PowerGlo tubes on that tank, plus 2 T8 tubes. Your single energy-saving bulb will probably only be good for low-light plants and green plants (basically plants that don't have high lighting requirements). I would go for a 70watt Metal Halide or a 24watt Hagen T5HO Glo unit. If you want good filtration you should use an Aqua One CF500 (cheap, and comes with low-quality filter media), but I would use a Fluval canister or an Eheim canister.
