  1. ADA, Iwagumi, Phoenix44 Jungles Luis Moniz's 90x45x45 ADA aquarium http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/foru ... -45-a.html A couple of ADA tanks (I LOVE the one on the left  )
  2. Wow! Your tank will do well with a 60watt bulb! That's a great amount of light. What is the kelvin rating on it?
  3. The photos aren't very good of the swordplants. They look tiny but in reality they are quite large. The one next to the H. polysperma 'Rosanervig' is growing very well at the moment. Some of the leaves on it are a good 15cm. Also remember, I don't have fancy ferts, lighting and cameras like you
  4. P44's Swordplants Crypt. cordata. The Crypt on the left of the photo is C. willisii
  5. I took these yesterday afternoon Getting some afternoon sun... Hyphessobrycon heliacus. Behined is some pearling Crypt. balansae and P44's swordplant My CO2 Setup P44 I'll post a pic of the tank shortly with the swords circled so you know where they are
  6. Pencilfish are slender and slow-moving. 7 will be fine in your tank. What sort of light? Is it just one? I find that if it is a flourescent tube, you'll need two; one isn't nearly enough for your tank unless you plan to have very low-light plants. If I were you I'd go for two 24watt T5HO PowerGlos.
  7. The outlet tap. The inlet and outlet taps are both exactly the same though.
  8. Sooty = her. She was a stray and adopted us and would not leave! (Despite the fact that mum and dad chucked dirt/water/citrinella oil at her  ) The room was already like that when we bought the house. I hate my room because it is on a lean and so there is more water on the right side of the tank than the left. Oh I forgot to add my thermostat is a Fluval M series 200watt.
  9. I know! It has bunnies on it :happy2: I LOVE bunnies!!!!!! :happy1: Can you see Sooty? Specs: Tank: 100x30x50cm - 150 liters The lighting is T8: 1x Hagen AquaGlo - 18,000K 1x Aqua One Tropical - 15,000K 1x Aqua One Sunlight - 6,700K I think... DIY CO2 with 2x 3 liter juice bottles, 3 teaspoons of yeast per bottle. Filtration: Eheim Classic 2213 Aqua One CF 1000 (currently not running. One of the taps is leaky)
  10. Yeah I suppose you could put it like that. I just grow plants, and give them away and make people happy.

    Banggais

Absolutely stunning Did you breed those yourself?
  12. Yeah  It's the best tank in the whole world   ..... NOT!!!!!!!!!!! It is just a holding setup at the moment. I want to set up a 300 liter breeding tank and mass breed some sort of really expensive fish that people would want to buy so I can afford a bigger tank with all sorts of fancy lighting, CO2, substrate etc. I do however take pride in my fish. I got the Trigonopomas (my favourites at the moment) from Organism and they are one of the coolest little fish I have ever kept.
  13. Hi all, I know a few of you wanted to see my tank, so be prepared to vomit all over the keyboard of your computer... Tank: Fish: Trigonopoma pauciperforata Hyphessobrycon heliacus: A random pic of my Cryptocoryne cordata: Fish I currently have: 9x Trigonopoma pauciperforata 9x Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi 4x Hyphessobrycon heliacus Pair of Golden Black-eyed Ancistrus I also have a lot of plants, but I won't name them all because it would take forever.
  14. No it hasn't hatched, but the hen hasn't kicked it out either. Also I read the thread about the lovebirds, and how one egg hatched a week (or near enough) from the other one. So there is a possibility that it may hatch (I hope). This isn't related to the topic, but I was talking to a friend last night who offered me a free pair of Chaffinches :happy2: The bird numbers are slowly accumulating again
  15. As I said, I'm only allowed two set up at a time. Currently I'm just gathering money and I plan to try and get round to setting up the breeding tank these holidays. So I only have 1 tank set up (150 liters) with plants (all in large terracotta pots, moss and ferns on wood) and a few fish (9x Trigonopoma pauciperforata colour varient, 9x Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi, 4x Hyphessobrycon heliacus, pair of Golden Bristlenoses). I'll try and get some good photos and start another thread.
  16. More photos Cock feeding the hen Hen sunbathing 'Floofies' at five days old
  17. 7 Pencilfish then if you're not having Cardinals
  18. I just don't have enough space to set up lots of little killie tanks and my other tanks. I'm only allowed 2 set up at a time, and I want to do a larged planted jungle/Dutch/ADA tank. But when I have my own house I'll be able to have tonnes of killies :bounce: At the moment I'm thinking of getting some Altum Angels to breed and sell to fundraise for my planted tank projects. I love these killies! I wonder if they're availible in NZ? Scyptaphyosemion cauveti 'Logan Bar'
  19. Righty ho, sounds good! I went outside just before and snapped these three pics (as well as 33 others ) Photos make threads interesting Wing detail Having a spat with the Goldfinch  I took this one a couple of days ago
  20. I've got a pair of Bourkes. The female seems to have some sort of disorder as she struggles to fly, and it takes her a lot of effort. I would LOVE some Elegants :bounce:  Would they be OK with the Turks?
  21. Thanks guys! If anyone is interested in keeping these guys, they are very affordable. I got my pair for $40 - dirt cheap! They do need a large space though - my aviary is 4x2x2m I think. I checked on the nestlings last night while the hen was having a feed and they're all doing well.
  22. They will be happy if there are other fish in the tank. I think the shoal of 10 Cardinals, and maybe 5 Pencilfish, will look cool.
