  1. if you cant get it down your way let me know (by PM) and I will get some for you up here. I take it that your talking about the plasticy stuff?
  2. Killis are easy to breed and to watch the eggs hatch and grow on is really great. I must admit that I do like peat spawners as to keep the "dirt" dry for anything from 10 week to 20 weeks then put it in water and watch the fry just apare is even better. Nigripinnis are peat spawners from south America and their name (Im told) means fish from the sky as when it rains, the fish majicly apare in the rain puddles. Off course, the eggs were in the dirt and simply hatched but the story help and encourages your interest in the fish. The Nigripinnis is the fish in my profile to the side.
  3. I hatch the eggs out then put them into containers that are about the size of takeaway containers. When the fry are about 10 to 23mm long I put them into the 300x 300 x 300 tanks untill they are either sold or given to other killi club people. Killi fry grow at different rates but normally after a week or so its time for the larger tanks. What type of Killis are you breeding?
  4. did you find either your mind or mine while you were away?
  5. Make a couple of phone calls Danalia Im not trying to have a go at you but its make up is totally different... you may as well put perspex in the same bin... as I mentioned, ask your day to ask his suppliers. If there was a way I could avoid spending $1500 per year I would
  6. Danilada What your doing is creating a major problem. No glass flat window glass is made here in NZ. The recycling depot is for bottle glass and it is made totally different to window glass that tanks are made from. By tipping window/flat glass into the bin, your effectivly making useless, the great efforts of people trying to recycle bottles. It is quite simply dumped as land fill. A few years ago, we could (Glass Merchants) firstly sell and then later give our glass off cutts (if totally clean) to the people that make pink batts but now it costs more to ask them to take it than it does to dump it. Simple thing is that we glass merchants have to pay to have it dumped at a cost of about $75 per cubic meter. If your father asks his suppliers he will find that what I have said is 100% correct. To dump old tanks or in fact any flat glass, phone your local glass company and ask if you could dump it in their bins but as mentioned, it does cost them
  7. Anna and Chris use rain water if you can but when you look at things, after the first fill up, its only water changes so thats not a lot of water really is it. Cricketman We have your number and you will be dealt to when next in our city

  18. when I use to import racing pigeons they were full of seeds and other things. These I disposed of and there was no problem. Its a contract that is signed that had certian conditions to it that had to be obeyed.
  19. interesting that we can send eggs to the States but not fish To me its a bit silly to allow some fish of a family but not allow others as the habits and breeding are very very similar and if they cant survive in NZ water conditions then what possible harm is there?
  20. If you PM me your address I will put some in peat and see what happens? Could send say eyed up and clears?
  21. Alan I havnt yet sent eggs this time round but years ago it was all in peat. Ive recieved eggs from Stuart in water and had them hatch with no problems May well be the subject for discussion though.
