  1. TWH sells large (100L) plastic bins cheaply, i'd advise putting a decent amount of water inside, then using a thin bead of silicone / hot melt glue to make sure that the area around the lid dosent' leak , and drilling a hole in the top of the lid. Admittedly this will require destroying the lid.
  2. hmm, that could have been it then, because the rowaphos reactor is in the same chamber as the skimmer, could have been that when the rowaphos went through the needlewheels it got broken down and caused a massive ph drop?
  3. Due to two tank crashes in a short space of time 1. Rowaphos reactor splitting, and the grains being spread throughout the system via the skimmer eating the bits (lost Male Clarkii, CBS, Skunk Cleaner, and Coral Beauty) 2. Bacterial / algae / something bloom, killing off what REMAINED of my fish (grr). (Female Clarkii, Blue Damsel, 2 Chromis, Naso Tang, Blue Mandarin) So, 1.2x700x600 display, with lit sump / fuge, full reef. Calupra Forest starting soon I hope. I'm going to add another sump tank into the system, will be like 500x500x500 or something, to act as a bubble remover and also to add more water into the system (more water = good right?) The system will be setup so that all the water enters the first sump, which will have the calupera growing in it, with a few lights, basically only enough space to reach in and harvest it as required , with 3x 50mm holes allowing water to escape, before exiting into the main sump, the first "chamber" as such will have approx 10kg of rock in it, and then into the final chamber, for the skimmer, rowaphos reactor etc, before the return pump sends water back into the display. Hopefully the skimmer will leave enough stuff alive to send back I'll be waiting a few weeks / months to stock it up again. Definate List: Pair of Blue Mandarins Naso Tang Rest i'm open to. Big Anenome and Harem of clowns? Yellow Tang Blue Tang (Yick) School of Bangai Cardinals (Would like..)
  4. Mebbe a one night stand, and now she won't let the husband touch the kids? Mebbe they saw too much late-night TV!? Gabe - Spanish? Thought what the heck, spam-bot?
  5. Dwarf Gourami have a habit of dying. They come into the country pumped up on DRUGZ, long enough to get through QT and then proceed to die, and possibly infect existing tankmates as well. They are suspected of killing off a species of native fish in Australia.
  6. Unless you specifically know what name the poster is you won't find it, as he ommited to leave his last name in his post
  7. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/1-vt60 ... sc&start=0 Find details here.
  8. Yup, also quieter as well i think.
  9. Zaita, from what I've read Conch also feeds very heavily, which will probably help his pod population. Re-post your feeding details again?
  10. SO PURDY! <3 I need to get my boy a girl.... Did you aclimatise the mandarins to each other first, or just chuckem in?
  11. If he said 450 cash, then it stands, regardless how how you paid, unless you wanted to pay by VISA. We get this a lot at work, hence we have to starte price xxx PLUS GST, and is cash price, visa there is xxx surcharge.
  12. Ok, as from previous thread, the Bangaiis will probably out-compete the manderin for food esp. in a 130 L tank, the reason Conch's manderin is fat & happy is because he overfeeds his tank, hence allowing his pods to grow and become happy. Yes, can you smash the rock up. If you get live rock and are busy hitting it with a hammer beware of bristleworms.
  13. They will out-compete the manderin for food. Any better?
  14. The Bangaii cardinals will also eat pods, so you may need to feed fairly heavily to help keep the populations up for the mandarin
  15. My manderin is in a tank 120x 70 and as fat as all hell
  16. Um, you mean the first pictures right, not the one at the top of the page Its a photoshop Tank has changed a bit, i'll try and get a pic up in the next few days though

    Miracle Mud

I had a little bit, my Naso destroyed it in less than 3 hours
  18. NZKA is $15 for a year for 4 AWs, if your LFS is a participant in one of the specials things, you can get 5-10% off fish.. The saving in fish covers itself very quickly.
  19. Yup, will be giving mm a go, first of all I have to rip the tank apart to get out all the bloody rowaphos thats gone everywhere

    Miracle Mud

i'm going to be doing the same as well, thanks to my home-bodged phosphate reactor splitting and sending clouds of thick red crap flowing around my tank having to do a massive w/c and empty the sump out... grrr
  21. I believe a dog died after drinking the water..
  22. Bumps have gone. No idea why or how
