  8. I'm now looking for a 4foot tank. Decided that my little "Friends" have already outgrown the 3foot. i'd like to set it up so that i have 1/2 sand, 1/2 gravel, so that the loaches have somewhere to dig. (and the eel can hide...) Any recomendations about where to get sand cheaply / freely that dosen't contain harmful bacteria etc? And any bad points about using sand?
  9. Possibly. TIme to get myself a Beta tank for work

How would firemouths, Jewels, and convicts do in the same tank?
  11. ammonia & nitrate = 0, nitrite, also very low, did waterchange on Sunday, @ around 50%, due to adding Discus
  12. My fighters are both kinda sick. The female appears to have pop-eye (and has been put into my smaller tank which I have been dosing with Melafix (decided that whitespot was probably going to be the least of her worries)), and she seems to have a deformed mouth. The male fighter seems to be very lethargic, and not his usual self, ie, not showing off, etc, and wondering whats wrong with them Any ideas?
  13. Peacock eels are also smaller.
  14. So, any reefers in Auckland (pref. NS) willing for me to come around and have a look at their tanks? I've been admiring a 4foot tank on TM, and I'm thinking that I want to revert my 3foot back to the state it was in when I got it - Marine! I don't have space under the cabinet for a sump, so it will have to be running through a Fluval 404, for mechanial filtration (can't use it for biological filtering?), and i'm looking for a HOB Skimmer. What size fish & how many? Where to get Live Rock? What kind of Gravel to use? How to attach frags to rock, and what to use to make sure that the rocks don't move? I'm not looking for the "normal" marine stock of clowns + blue tang, i'm looking for something a little more.. interesting...
  15. Currently its a 3foot, but i'm already looking at getting a 4 foot

  17. Uh, guys in America with white hats. Hate Group.
  18. I'm looking for cheap fancy / interesting catfish. The cooler the better. I've figured that they will work better in my oddball tank than any other fish will, as they are bigger. - Chocolate Talking Cat (Got) - Syno Zambezensis / Hemisynodontis Membranaceus (Also Got) When i say cheap, i mean that i'm NOT looking for any of the "fancy" plecs, but if they are very cool, i'll have to look into it. Also, with the Synodontis catfish, do they have any territory issues at all?
  19. Does it have bristles? if not, then wait, if yes, are the bristles forked. like Y ? Or do they look like | Forked = male Non-forked = female Or too small to tell
  20. Heh, i think I know the answer to that one... Its called "Kids"
  21. I need to put my eyes back in their sockets. What size are those guys from nose to tail 0.0? I have a feeling that they would nearly fill my tank
  22. Powerglow = for fish Aquaglow = for plants. In a double tube fitting, place the aquaglow at the back, and the powerglow at the front.
