  1. Either a trio or a pair of the last ones on TM currently.
  2. My fish are running around the tank like headless chickens, & cowering at ends of the tank. The fish have also lost a lot of colour (White clown loach..?) What can I do to help them? 3foot tank - 5x Silver Sharks 1x BGK 1x Butterfly 2x Small Green Sevrums 7x Clown Loaches tank blackout, more plant life, hidey holes, dither fish? Any ideas, as I dislike having stressed fish
  3. I have one and love it. They are related to Arowana, so they are a top dwelling highly predatory fish. Try not to feed them live food, because they may get picky and only eat live food... Frozen and freeze-dried bloodworm = win. Mine also eats flake. Kickass fishies, but be aware that they like to eat stuff I'm mainly at home in the morning & in the evenings, so I feed in the morning before work, and later at night when i get home, and then i watch the fish by subdued tank lighting, its soo kickass
  4. I'm going to try a waterchange first, because my temp is already fairly high, then, increase temp to 29 degrees, and see how it goes before adding salt.
  5. natural sea water. Or something.
  6. Dammit, my loaches have the dreaded spot too 175 litre tank, 10 tablespoons of salt, and raise temp to 29? (temp is already close to that)
  7. rofl. 3 week old kittens are cuddly
  8. Thats what I thought. The other 4 still seem happy, so i'll get them 2 more friends tomorrow ^.^
  9. One of my 5 loaches died, as far as I can tell, no signs of injury or damage, all of them have been eating, so, any ideas of what he died of? Water seems fine, as he is the only fish i've had die. So, other options? Overfeeding? Possible? Whitespot? Doubtful as he is the only sick fish in the tank, all the other seem fine. Any other options?
  10. sun sunburn or pale skin
  11. how many pantadons is it safe to have in a tank?
  12. My pantadon refuses to eat green flake, but will eat red. And will chase anything else looking at the red flake. sigh.
  13. Port Hoplo - Armoured catfish http://www.aquarium365.com/s142000.htm 20cm max, but they will take a long time to get there. Mine are like little puppies, so cute
  14. top dweller living with a pantadon. Or a fish that likes to swim at the top next to a pantadon. Excellent idea
  15. Ah, gotta love flatmates / parents.
  16. screw the guppy, I used it to test that my tank was cycled. That, and its probably even more likely to die where it is now, than where its going
  17. Hum, they probably are. Anyone selling baby firemouths
  18. Eat plants. yes good. How are they going to be with the following: 1x munted guppy 4-5x Baby Gold Sevrums (if i can find the 5th) 2x Red Jewel Cyclids (Chiclids) And possibly a spiny eel. Depending on TM and luck I'll get used to spelling strange names soon. Knew i should have taken Latin at school
  19. ~Black Ghost Knife. Made him a nice hidey hole, put bloodworm in it so that he would find it. Refused to go inside, then my clown loaches went into eat the bloodworm, so he went in there, and demanded that they leave. And ignored the bloodworm. ~Male Siamese Fighter Has decided that my pantadon butterfly is another female, and is going "woo shiney fins!". idiot fish. ITS GONNAN EAT YOU. When it gets bigger lol ~Clown Loaches They make clicking sounds that sounds like glass cracking. And like water dripping. Damn near gave me a heart attack NOT FUNNY - Flatmates thought it was funny though, seeing me run round the edges of the tank trying to find dampness.
  20. Yunno, the stuff that makes you go "OH CRAP", or makes you laugh @ your fish I'll even go first
  21. Cool. Off to dicksmiths to find out how much this little jaunt will cost me
  22. I need to come up with a waterproof lighting "strip" that won't cast too much light into my tank, but will illuminate things at night. Sooo.. What I think i'm looking to do is find a 3foot long clear plastic tube, and setup a bunch of LEDs (and sand the lens to diffuse the light). Question1: Anyone like to make a guess as to how many LEDs i'll require? Question2: What type of Power Source - DC 12v? 4/5v? Question3: What colour of light? - I'm specifically after a colour that is outside of fishies viewing spectrum, but inside human viewing spectrum. - Way cool to sit on bed, and watch fishies do their stuff at night - bgk, butterfly etc
