I like the physics law, energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another.. Funny thing is, this can also loosely be associated with money.. Money never leaves you ( - keeping it basic here), its just transformed into possesions

That can sometimes cause more problems as they might end up trying to steal more to cover the fine, If they were locked up and fined that would deter them even more than just a fine alone... age old saying "time is money" take away their time and you take away their ability to make money (in this case steal)

I've seen a few people on trademe in the last few years selling Pleco's, 90% of them are "common pleco's" but you get the odd person calling it a goldspot,redspot,sailfin either trying to make it sound fancy and get more $$$$ or because the shop selling it to him/her has used those names. If there was a system in place worldwide that has the proper name (scientific) and the latin name and then last but not least the common name, now this should be ONE name.. nothing fancy... just a simple name so there are NO abbreviations or other words similar that can be substituted in (like whats happening now)

I think where he's coming from is: He likes fish and wants a good setup but wants to stock it with fish that will breed so he can sell the offspring to cover costs of running the tank (make money if hes lucky) I don't think he's looking for a buisness venture :gigl:

If you were to make money from selling fish it would be from fancy pleco's, snowballs sell for about $500 each. Cardinal tetra's are harder to breed but would be very easy to sell on because they are one of the most popular freshwater fish world wide. On average you get about 100 fry, sell them at $7 each and get $700 Malawi Cichlids would also be good to breed/sell. Most other community fish wouldn't make anywhere near as much money as the above

Well you are intentionally getting in the car to drive, you can't say oops sorry officer i tripped and fell into my car and it started up and drove down the road and into a pole by itself :roey: further more, you are not putting someone elses life in danger taking a gecko. And with that said I would rather a person lived and not a gecko, end of the day someones life is worth more than a lizard - which is why I'm saying its pathetic what sentances judges give to people for certain crimes.

Yes its not uncommon for tanks to get a "slime" in the first month of setting up the tank, You could get a bristlenose to control it if you want

Its amazing how someone can get drunk, get in a car and then crash and only get sentaced to community work - yet smuggling gecko's gets you 4.5 months in prison Same goes with animal cruelty, rarely will someone go to prison for disfiguring an animal etc - yet "stealing" a gecko will get you in prison... go figure :dunno:

Its a problem with loaches aswell, clown loach is fine but the other types of loaches have quite a few different common names

Taking longer than it should have because the resin split in half when i ate away the poly, Added some fibreglass tape to strengthen/join it back togeather.. But now I'm going to modify the whole thing and add a mini waterfall to it using one of the return pipes
