Trying to get them to eat atm. I've got decap, but they don't seem to realise its food. Their mouths are so tiny! All 10 are still alive this morning. Could they be over the most sensitive stage?

I've had my Apistogramma eunotus for just over a month now & today while cleaning out the tank I noticed some fry I hadn't even thought about them breeding at this stage (the female is half the size of the male) I've now got 10 in a breeding net as they seemed old enough that the parents weren't guarding them. The parents must know how many I need to get the breeding registered :lol: Sorry about the picture quality They're about 7-8mm long. Any idea on how old they might be? And any advice would be good. I've never raised cichlids before.

For my protperty an outside enclosure would not be suitable. Theres a massive hill right behind my house so we only get a few hours of sun in the backyard in summer. I kinda prefer the idea of a glass tank if thats ok heat wise. That looks really good! I've got no building skills so I'll get my dad to have a look at it and see if he can make it for me

What would I make an enclosure out of ? If I chose to go the non-tank route I got a little book about BTs today so I'm slowly going through it so I can get it all sorted out

I am considering the possibility of getting a BT. With my research I've read that I'd need a basking lamp, a heat lamp and a UVB light. Would getting this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pets-animals/Reptiles-turtles/auction-274856374.htm mean I could reduce the number of lamps I need? It seems to me that it could be both a heat lamp and a UVB light - is that correct?

P44 I realise that you've already been but at 12.30 there is a public feeding of the giraffes (this is the only time that the giraffes can be fed as we have poisionous browse in the zoo too) Other than that one the other hands on things are the encounters (cheetah, red panda, giraffe and big cat) And at random times in the day guides will bring out reptiles for people to touch

Just found this pic I took beggining of last Nov: & she hasn't changed size since that pic was taken to now

But even a month ago the spot was dark - I just don't have any photos from that time. The fish hasn't grown in a while & now the spot is changing

I'd heard that it could be a sign of BN heritage, I hadn't even thought about any medical problem

Back in June 2008 I noticed a little GBA in my tank who had a spot: The spot grew larger & reached her eye. Then I didn't really change. Until now :-? I took this on the 2nd of feb 2010: (I now notice that its not the solid brown that it used to be & the edges aren't so sharp) And then last night: I had a look at her other side, just incase I'd got the wrong side. & since I saw the spot she's been the only GBA/BN in her tank so its not just another GBA Anyone else had this happen??

both filters have been in there for the whole time. I'll take out the front filter when I next do a waterchange.

Oh - I forgot to say about that filter. It was there for when I had lots of little gbas and i'm planning on taking it out soonish, I just want to make sure that the tank is stable before i do so (leaving just the fluval in the back)

it took my lovebird about 3-4 months to be able to fly - but he wasn't able to glide at all the way his wings were clipped. While his feathers were growing back it was funny to see him try to fly to me, but end up on the table cos he didn't have much control on where he was going :lol:

yeah I like royals - but they grow to big for my tank. Hopefully one day I'll get a tank big enough for lanceolates, reds,royals and twigs!

Been changing the fish around in my tank - more focusing on the fish that fascinate me than needing to 'fill' each water level. Fish list: 1 Albino Rainbow Shark 2 Golden bristlenoses 2 lanceolate whiptails (2 more to come when they've grown up a bit) 2 siamese algae eaters 2 red whiptails 1 African butterfly fish And a pile of snails Some red whip pics: I just got this the other day. Their names are Kerry and Vicki 8)

A few months ago this tank was a bear bottomed GBA raising tank. Then I brought some midnight black fine gravel & added some young fish & plants. One of two young whiptails young Apistogramma eunotus Full view with plants The whiptails will be in there until they're large enough to go in my larger tank

I fully agree with that - Some malaysian snails or eggs came on some plants I got years ago & I still have a major problem with them Every month of so i take out a few hundred & the next night there are still too many. I also have red rams horn snails. They're much better since they don't burrow in the gravel so much more managible. I have some in a tank & take 50 out every few weeks.
