i don't think any heaters are needed in this weather. I took my heater out of my marine tank and its still up at 28.5 degrees.... I have stuck a 3L bottle of water in the freezer and have put a big fan across the water as a temporary measure.... I think I might need to suspend my mh though.

just get a picture if you can thanks. we have many more starfish etc than those on display so it would be interesting to see wehter we have one or not. keep in mind that starfish are carnivores and so some are better than others as some like to eat eachother etc... we feed ours mussel pieces but they still go for the cats-eyes!!!!

I assumed It needed an air-pump because it has a airtube out from where the water is pumped in... I don't know what brand it is but it looks like this, except it is taller

I don't like ornaments either. Fake plants are acceptable if necessary. for example, I have fake plants in my axolotl and my puffer tanks because real plants would be up-rooted. All my other tanks are natural.... my favourite fish are bright-active fish (killies etc), big carnivorous fish (like my puffer) and marine fish -
hey all- I have sourced a skimmer I can use and I have a big air-pump for it... all I need now is a pump t orun it... does anyone have an old pump which would work.... I am thinking 2500Lph.... cheers! :lol:

really...Sounds interesting. grab a pic and I'll show my boss- he's really into those sorts of things.... The octopus is in a tank by himself- down by the cave weta's in wierd and wonderful... He has lots of fun games like pulling the cats-eyes apart as well as the mussels we feed him. he also likes grabbing on to my arm!!! they are strong blighters :lol:

hey skippy- thanks for the compliments.... the anenome in the reef tank almost died but he is making a comeback now- should be getting his colour back soon.... the clown has lost colour as well, although he is getting old... and yes the aiptasia is pretty bad in the tank. we usually zap them once a week with joes juice so it is getting better... did the octopus come out of his hole to say hello?
