unless i built up the centre with more light demanding species and worked my way out to the edges. its only a 3ft tank. i was thinking that the 250 watt would produce alot more heat etc. all i want it for initially is an anenome, as I will be starting off with easy corals until I get the hang of saltwater a bit more.

i'm not going to mention who is selling which- however you probarbly all know but I am trying to decide whether to get a 150 watt retrofit with a new 14k bulb which is new or a used 250 watt Leuci with a 1 month old bulb... What would you guys sugest as I cant decide... this is taking into consideration cost, electricity usage and performance. I only have a 200 L tank, 920l 390d 600h. I am wanting to keep lots of soft corals but also some hard corals and an anenome.

MICRO-CHIPPING TURTLES, anyone know any info on this???

i don't knw about pets but micro-chipping is used in reptiles in research institutes etc- for example- all the reptiles at the zoo are micro-chipped so they each have their own serial number so it is easier to keep track of health concerns, transfers etc. -
you can buy little trp things- i have never used one because I breed my snails to feed to my puffer but I believe it is a baited system- try your lfs or i believe there is a stockist on tm, however I just searched and I couldn't find any for sale currently- bummer!

hey i have a 200L tank which I am setting up for a reef tank. it already has 3x t8 lights (2 white one blue), can I simply put t5 bulbs in or do I need to wire in new fittings for them? the bulbs already in them are 90cm, 30Watt bulbs, 10000K from sylvania... cheers.

na timtam I have enough tanks for now- by that i mean I am out of money!!! I just bought a 250 L tank which I am gonna set up as a reef tank but don't have metal halide or skimmer on it at the moment so seed to get that sorted! everything else except skimmer, metal halide and lifestock is sorted though.

everyone seems to just call them spiny pufferfish... I think they may have one at kelly tarltons. They are not common home aquarium material as they can expand to a size much larger than a soccer-ball!!!

yeah hazzard I want some glass shrimp for my arrowhead. At the moment he has been in with white cloud mountain minnows and he has gome through 10 in the last week...

depends- what do you wanna keep- nano's are harder to keep than big tanks though as there is alot less water thus alot more room for error, as there is less stability.(stability is the wrong word but you know what I am trying to say.)

normally aquarium brackish water is formed at 1/2 concentration of instant ocean reccomendations...but as this can vary it would be best to ask the person who you acquired it from what the salt concentration was... As to how long it would take them to adapt to fw- I am not sure- most people would reccomnd a couple of days, however some people will say a couple of hours-and othere a couple of weeks- it all depends on who you ask

don't worry jasmine I am in the same boat- I am 100% out of cash, and my family is away in Europe for christmas without me... The solution is to go to all your friends family's christmas breakfasts, lunches, dinners, afternoon tea's, suppers etc. I am scheduled in with 5 different families this christmas- just think of the food!!! It sucks about your fishtank, have they emailed back yet?
