off topic a bit but what does ROFLMAO stand for... I know the last 4 letters (Laugh my a** off) but what do the first 3 stand for?

oh and welcome to the forums- I'm sure you will learn heaps... I have only been a member on this forum for 6 months or so and in that time I have gone from having one coldwater and one tropical tank to having over 12 tanks- and its all thanks to these guys :lol: . I hope you have fun on the forums too!

the temp of twenty-six will be because of the fact that your room temp is highter than 22. your heater will turn on if the temperature gets too low but if it goes above 22 it will obviously remain off (It has no cooling function if this makes sense)

yeah I have spent over $1500 setting up so far, not including skimmer or pump to drive skimmer which I got free. most expensive is probarbly test kits which you can't skimp on... They may not seem like much but it all adds up when you need ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, pH, kH, Calcium, Phosphate, and thats just a start!!!!

oh and in my coldwater tank I just dose iron to keep the java moss perky... all my othe coldwater plants are really hardy...

in my mini planted tank I use flourish and flourish Iron... I need some flourish excel though coz the thread algai is getting unbearable!

i lost the cable to connect my digi. camera to my computer but thought it was about time to seek some expert advice to check I'm on the right track... thanks steve and cookie for their help so-far. just a quick run-through of the parameters- pH = 8.4 Phosphate=0 ppm Ammonia, Nitrates, nitrites = 0 ppm calcium = 340 ppm dKH = 11.6 Salinity = 1.023 Temp = 27.9 From research I am thinking these parameters are ok, Calcium a bit low (I have bought some red sea success calcium to counter this problem). Temp is high so I am gonna get rid of the lid and suspend my MH... Is the dKH a little high... also is salinity too low??? I'm wondering why my salinity has decreased- It was at 1.025 and now it is 1.023... I haven't done any water changes???? odd!!! So far the tank is set up with only live rock.... I am setting up my skimmer which I got today on monday, once I get the eheim pump for it... I want to start putting lifestock in.... I am thinking that I will put an anemone and 2 clowns in there late next week- will this be sweet (as the rock is live and my parameters seem fine...) I don't want to put blue chromis in first otherwise they will pick on everyone else... My ideal fish list after my 2 skunk clowns and anemone are in are 3 or 4 blue chromis and two cleaner shrimp, then a flame angel in six months time.... Is this good do you guys think??? Also how would a cowrie snail be??? I heard they can have quite an appetite for coral.... Well thanks for your help guys... any assistance in my queries are much appreciated!

don't bother about plants--- just use heaps or rocks, and low lighting... You can use some wood with java moss on it if you want that will be sweet in coldwater if there is Iron....

try mealworms- he'll love ya for it
