My suggestion is to get someone who knows what they are doing to wire it up. Water and electricty do NOT make a good mix as it is. let alone dodgey wiring. Trust me. Shocks from the mains plug are not fun.hurts like hell for ages.

Hey Stella Can the different types of bullies be found in the same locations? As stated in the other thread, i wanna set up a native tank, Can different species of natives be kept together? Also I went to the local library to look for some reference books on NZ Natives, Guess what, There was none. I dont seem to be able to find too much on the net either, so please excuse me if I seem as though i ask too many questions,lol Please put me on your list for when your book is published

Also got a fair few Bullies(although released them again) They had reddish fins, I know someone here will be able to give me correct name. Also a few small eels. This stream is its own little paradise, spent most of the day there. once i sort myself out a bit i will prob set up a Native fish tank.

I had a cf1200 on my discus tank that was situated about 2 metres away from the head of my bed. So long as you dont allow air into filter itself , it is pretty silent. I coluld hear the airpumps in the lounge more than the aqua one. Aqua one is my choice. best value for money in my opinion

You cannot sell native crayfish legally! I think you will also find that keeping more than one cray per tank(unless you have a big tank) they will fight all the time and are carniverous. Hey count yourself lucky you've got one. Im having enough trouble finding one

Clove oil is great to numb the pain. Was given some at local A&E when i had a bad infection in my wisdom teeth. BUT it dont taste good. The numbing effect of it is almost instantaneous. so id imagine for a fish it would be pretty effective if not yucky tasting.

I have that problem as my planted tanks are open topped. Condensation is a big problem I have a DVS system. Basiclly it is useless and all it does is create cold draughts. I put a dehumidifier in the room at night on cold night and wipe and open windows in the morning I believe that so long as i own fish, i will have to live with condensation.

Our cat is the same. so we leave the bath tap running slightly to allow her to drink whenever she wants. Yes She owns our house and loves eating fish food. once found a small container of fish food outside.only found out how it got there when i caught her running down the hall with container in her mouth.
