Whats good for one is good for all I suppose. Unfortunately lifes not that simple
  4. To me watching that on the news, all I saw was a Native Canadian student that wants to make a scene so she can feel important. Thats just my opinion.
  5. Looks like you are having a good time there Caryl. Looking at those old buildings makes you realise what little history NZ has compared to England or Europe. Keep the photos coming
  6. Yeah, I think my boy likes it rough

  8. Bloodworms are distictivly red Daphnia are small, about the size of a flea, infact they are known as water fleas. They swim with a jerky motion

  10. Heres hopeing. Have posted these images on an apisto forum to see what the experts think. These were obviously different in shape from the Steel Blues in the tank below theirs. Ryan, these two indiidual photos are of each fish. Do you see why I think they both the same sex. Bugger :-?
  11. Had to share Ok , so they are cockatoos and no something more interesting, but they are apistos. Not going to try interfere for now, but some may survive. Others in the tank may think lunch, but the tank is heavily planted. Im just in the process of making a blackwater setup, may throw them in and let them go. The apisto bug is really catchy   PS, these are the ones I was growing up from you Bilbo
  12. I have Aponogeton Undulata I also know where some Aponogeton distachyus grows, but that is no good for your tanks. What are the two you have?
  13. Thanks Gary I went there today but they are far to big for what I want. Still looking people
  14. Noise is not to much of a problem as the setup is in the shed. Im just sick of the small ones that flake out after a few months use and was hoping to do away with all the seperate plugs.
  15. Found this on Ebay Australia, but the cost of the unit is almost cheaper than the freight. Can these be bought from someone in NZ. This one still works out ok at about $65.00 incl freight and exchange rate
  16. Hi all Today I am starting to set up an area in my garage for breeding. I am running a small bank of 4 or 5 tanks at a time, and are going to use sponge filters. My question is , what do others use for an air pump? individual ones for each tank or a larger one that runs all tanks? I cant seem to see any larger one available. Where do I find these? Any idea on price or does someone have one they want to sell me? Cheers Simon

    Plant ID

Take it out and plant it in a tub with water up to the top of the soil. Its more of a bog plant so does best with wet feet but not fully submersed. It should then grow better and once its big enoughyou should be able to split it as yu would a flax plant HTH

    ROCK CLEANING

Cheapest and easiest way is sunlight. Put them outside, although today is not the best, in the direct sunlight. Use a stiff bristle brush and shoul be all good. Make sure they dry out totally. PS, if you need a hand to move any of your fish etc, give me a pm. Be happy to help
