  2. The broad leaved plant in the middle? Also the small leaved one on the left? It grows in amongst the glosso at another site. These were spotted on a plant hunting trip to a new stream( new as in recently diverted alongside main road) Other plants in the stream that I can id are Potamogeton Crispus , Ludwigia sp , watercress, azola and rananculus(water buttercup)
  3. Go buy some JBL 7 Balls Push them into the substrate near the roots. Swords re heavy root feeders and will bnefit from this.

  5. Not sure if I have seen that one, but this place I used to go to catch bugs for my lizards had all sorts. Even red grass hoppers.
  6. At switched on gardener you can buy rolls of mylar, which is fairly cheap and easy to fit into tank hood

  8. There was a thread a while ago asking for it to be id'd. It was found growing i the wild. It was posted by some one up whangarei area I think. I think this may be the one HaNs is refering to.

  11. I feed my dwarf neon rainbow ant eggs and they go nuts. Have not tried actual ants as catching then is not easy. I find eggs under logs and under stones in the garden.

  13. Got some good vegative growth now on most plants. I expect to see some more flowers soon. Will post pics when some appear. I knew that growing crypts was slow work, but didnt think Id have to wait this long.

  15. What sort of substrate do you have Stacey? If its just gravel then you should b sweet to just move the plants while the fish are in there, but if you have sand or aquatic mix it may make a big mess uprooting all the existing plants. HTH

    Petshop rant

    Its nothing new. I always stop there while passing just for a look. Ive seen this many times. Once counted 12 dead neons in on tank. You have to go ask to be served there if you want anything other than cats.

  19. Agreed with Alan I have heaps of crypts(you guys prob know that by now ) and many of them change leaf size and shape depending on several factors. Light, Nutrients temp, etc. Have you got any photos?
