  1. I bought myself a 3.5 channel Gyro copter just for fun ( we sell them at work). http://electus.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=12829&CATID=39&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&SUBCATID=336 I live opposite a huge sports park and I decided to see how high it would go. I could not believe it when it got so high I couldnt see it. I had to slowly throttle back and hope it was comming down. Sure enough it can back as planned. Now I am looking online for a cheap light camera to attach to it just for fun. Who said toys were for kids? :happy2:
  2. Its hard work keeping up with these young ones a Caryl, lol. I do not have a twitter account and I am glad to read BD that I do not need one to read what is twitted by the twit members. LOL
  3. Also make sure you have males also
  4. Big cool waterchange and lots of live food. Add heaps of java moss or similar and wait.
  5. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/?p=2072 Stop being modest Stella.
  6. It helps if you state the size of the tank you are referring to. In both of your recent posts the answer will have been straight forward if the tank size was discussed at the beginning. As Ryan said, they will be fine if the tank is big enough. Certainly not if it is too small.
  7. I don't care what people think. My business is my business. If they don't like it well that's their problem. I am happy. Yes I agree with the Original poster in saying that some people look at you sideways when you tell them you keep fish, but I bet that they have some hobby that is a bit different too and they just are too scared to tell anyone else for fear of prejudice. Most who make fun of others are usually insecure themselves. Life is full of different people, that's what makes us unique.

    Hi Caper!

Hello Caper, I hope life is treating you well in the Northern Hemisphere.
  9. That tank is too small for any type of discus full stop. Also the amount of salt in the wood will not affect the fish in any way. More than likely it will benefit them. More importantly with the wood is to ensure that the wood is not rotting. Rotting wood will easily contaminate a tank of that size.

    Sand sifters

If you cannot add any more larger fish, then there is nothing wrong with raking the sand with your hands or with Gravel vac during water changes. You may find with the fish you already have that there may become issues with territories. HTH

    Sand sifters

If your tank is big enough you could get Geophagus species. For a smaller tank B. cupidos would be good but I doubt you'll find them around, hehe As Alan said, Why do you want to sift the sand though?
  12. What is the tank worth? It may not be worth the risk. Just resist the urges and wait till car arrives. Like my signature states...........
  13. If you cant swap media over then two weeks is better than none, but you will still need to add the fish slowly. You will have kicked started the cycle but not completed it.
  14. I have all three types. The bottom ones are in my opinion the best but take more room. The others you can stick to the back wall. That is till the suction cups fail.
  15. I still use sponge filter also. They are brilliant for fry tanks.

    g'day

    Welcome to the forum. :slfg:
  17. I looked into it and it looks like your username was in similar format (ie, name followed by a few numbers) to a large amount of spammers that recently attempted to join. Thus it being added to the list of unwanted registrations. It unfortunately means that username is no longer available. Try join again and you will be right. Just need to alter username for it to accept.
  18. I dare you to do it again, :sml1:
  19. Did you have to buy any adaptors to fit to the Sodastream bottle?
  20. And your point is? Alan never mentioned the stink!
  21. Exactly my thoughts when I read that title.
  22. BTW, nice looking tank Sam :nfs:
