  12. they have some really tiny ones in there at the mo, but i wouldn't pay $20 when they are so small
  13. i had one in my 4 ft tank & he never stopped swimming.
  14. lol, did you ask the shop if thats where they came from?
  15. feeding them to pictus cats is abit tricky, you need to put in a few in a heap so they find them, but ive seen a few dig into the gravel very quickly.
  16. & i'll buy a ticket to see it when its finished, could be a good way to pay your power bill each month, letting us nosey people into see it.
  17. silly question, but do the whiteworms that escape been eaten just crawl into the gravel & die?
  18. thanks for the poly ryan, the 2 little bits i had are too busted up to use. not sure why the difference in glass size, the auction said 9 but it looked like 10 so i got the tape measure out to check & they are different. i might pull the bracing off the top & put some wider ones on.
  19. just got a tank off trade me thats 1025cm long, 45cm wide & 78cm high. some of the glass is 9mm & some 10mm. looks solid but the bracing on top is loose & is only a piece on each end & none in the middle. im thinking of putting another strip in the middle & it has been used as a turtle tank & has a strip of glass inside the tank about 30cm down going from front to back that was to hold a shelf up. so im wondering if this would be ok to fill to about the 70cm mark?
  20. i think if i won lotto i would have a huge tank but i would employ someone to mantain it!!
  21. what kinda price are these irivers? im looking at getting one for my daughter for christmas but just want something simple she can work herself.

    red whiptail

found one on the weekend & it looked perfectly fine, no sign of anything nasty in the tank all other fish seemed ok so i brought it & chucked it in my tank. ( in saying this there where a few other tanks in the lfs that were being treated) it looked fine for a couple of days & i hadn't seen it since tuesday & ive just spotted it & noticed its covered in whitespot so ive turned up the temp alittle. im guessing it would be sensitive to treatments so im wondering what others have used on whiptails with success.
  23. i'd say you are just getting what was coming to you!! & you've probably had a raw deal from them in the past like the rest of us.
  24. wow!! they look kinda scary when they are big!! very cool pic's tho
  25. mine was in a tank of 7.8 ph & was fine.
