  1. not at the moment, got some yesterday but most of it is pre-sold.
  2. i do, i can supply you 1kg for $75 plus freight.
  3. i kept peacocks with red zebs & cobalts and had no issues at all, the peacock was the main man in that tank
  4. nice pics, you get a camera for xmas? how bout some pics of those red fronts you got?
  5. mine have always been in low to mid 7's so not a hard and fast rule. I have had success with some val species with my trophs but others haven't had them same joy with malawians, give java fern and twisted val a hoon and see what happens.
  6. how do the dogs get along with the mobile rocks?
  7. where are you going to put it? does it have access for a tank that size? plywood tank will be much cheaper than glass all round i suspect.
  8. mine get a cold water change every week, they also get alot of food as he has witnessed with his own eyes so I am confident it can't be food or enviroment related. i can only think it is because they are outright nasty and the tank size is probably not helping at all.
  9. the last thing i would do is start trying other foods. i am not sure your issue is bloat if their bellies don't actually bloat up. NLS cichlid formula and JBL Novorift are my choices and i have not had any health issues, this may simply be ikolas from the comments of those that have also kept them.
  10. my stand is made of 70x45 and 70x35, it's 2.0m long and stronger than it needs to be. reducing the timber size will make it alot cheaper and easier to build the stand.
  11. personally i would use tex screws. that is heavy timber, is it the look your after?
  12. if your using 100x100 you'll need to use a 8g tex screw or a coach screw if you want that length. what size is the tank?
  13. as long as there is silicone between the glass panels the silicone on the inside is doing very little. there should be a gap between the end of one panel and face of the other. the silicone on the inside could be removed without any issues. as for the giraffe, he sounds like catfood.
  14. i googled it & http://www.birdingnz.net/ http://www.birdforum.net http://forum.forestandbird.org.nz/ no idea if they are any good but must be worth a crack
  15. i don't think it's a good idea mixing angels, cories etc with africans. the setups they need are different and the africans behaviour may be really bad news for the others.
  16. i expect the yellows to destroy all of your plants, i wouldn't bother replanting if i were you. as for vaccing, if the flow is sufficient you shouldn't need to do much. I have a sunsun tank of similar size as the AR and i very rarely vacced, on when the debris got caught at the base of a rock. if you have a filter intake at each end it generally takes care of itself i found if the spraybar is aimed up a little, creating a gentle barrel roll type flow.
  17. where have they all gone, only a year or so ago I was breeding over 100 a month a selling for $2 each in the finish.
  18. i would consider something like 12 fronts, 12 empress as they will be the main features. throw in a few peacocks, maybe 6 or more.
  19. red and blue, I had some real nice fryeri that had red fins. red empress would be my choice, they get to a good size.
  20. i suppose in theory that the heater will potentially be heating water that goes into the filter and if it is an external some of that heat will be lost but i doubt it will be of any significance at all. if it is keeping the tank at the desired temp it's fine.
  21. that is very sad to hear, sweety is a legend of a loach.
  22. you can but not needed if you have a good circulation in the tank.
  23. i have mine vertical and horizontal and they all keep the tank at the correct temp so I see no advantage with it being horizontal over vertical. the one I have horizontal is that way because it is over 500mm long and the tank in only 450mm tall.
