  4. hi all, here's a debate topic..... i got my electric yellows from my lfs where i was advised to feed them sprilina etc & protein once a week (bloodworms or similar). The fryeri that i got from Dan, he advised to feed them spirilina only. the info below says that the fryeri are carnivores (meat eaters) & electric yellows are omnivores (meat & plant eaters). obviously the opinions of these people are the current info for these fish, anyone only feed meat to fryeri? how much protein is feed to the e yellows? 8. thanks afrikan. my bible at the moment is the species register on the cichlid forum. I found Aulonocara baenschi but no Aulonocara hansbaenschi. is this just cause the register isn't totally up to date or some other reason? http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/r ... p?genus=17

  17. store it! that will be one less expense to explain to the boss when you wana setup something new!
  18. You have gone completly crackers! to get rid of africans for pancakes that don't move...
  19. that doesn't sound right to me, i had to turn the spraybar from my CF1000 directly into the glass because it created too much current in my 200L tank. if you put the suck pipe in one end & the sprybar in the opposite end I expect it would make alot of current.
  20. they dont have to be sandstone, could be granite or marble. granite benchtop companys would be the best as they typically use 30mm thick material & have offcut strips & sink or hob cutouts left over.
  21. I am planning to change my community tank into a african tank. I want to put the clowns with my africans as above & this is acceptable. What about skunk loaches, would the same theories apply?
  22. this being a river tank, how strong is the current? A canister would also work well to create flow?
  23. here's my version of caves for my african tank. they are sandstone tiles that I broke up with a hammer. You could get waste material from any granite place, in Wellington there is Trethewey Granite & Marble which is the co i used to work for.

    Brown algae?

I don't have a test kit for that but i did get a sample tested on saturday & the nitrates & nitrites were perfect. I currently have 9 small africans in 80L with 500L/H filtration.
