  1. my yellows did that for the first time that i noticed it yesterday. I have all females.
  2. I also have a CF1000. I simply turn it off, turn hose taps off & unscrew the pipes still left in the tank. Take the canister to the sink & rinse everything under the tap. most may say thats not the way to do it but I've been doing it that way for almost a year with no problems at all. I have made a cleaner for the pipes to, 15kg fishing line with an old bottle brush tied to the end. feed the line through the pipe (line has two large swivels to weight it) & pull the bottle brush through. only takes me bout half an hour for the whole lot.

  9. be careful using these as they are acid cure products which means that they could eat away what ever you are sticking together. you can't use laminated glass with acid cure silicones as the adhesive used to laminate the glass gets eaten by the silicone.
  10. i have two that are around three inches long in a 1000mm tank & they have plenty of space & get along very well. they are real characters & often play what looks like hide & seek.

  15. Hi all, I have noticed since i increased my filtration rate from 4.5 times to 9.5 times (200L tank/1900LPH filtration) per hour I have not had any great amount of algae growing. there is a little on the bracket of the power head but very little grows on the back wall or any where else. anyone else out there got similar filtration rates & very little amounts of algae?
