  1. Weirdest thing, it has just reappeared again after about a week of being missing and me taking everything out and checking, saw it this afternoon I must have missed something unless it is sucking itself out a corner and then coming in??? I'm gobsmacked! You guys must think i'm screwed in the head or something but honestly it has dissapeared without a trace and now just turned up    What the heck is going on???????  Maybe its hiding away amongst some of the filterwool in the internal filter or something and I missed it?? Yay, good news for once
  2. Thanks guys for the thoughts Have looked in the driftwood and it is not in there, have no big plecos in the tank- nothing except those small apistos I said about, and I didn't worry about putting gravel in the tank as it was only temporary so didn't think I needed it  Its just GONE
  3. I'm a bit confused   Out in my new outdoor fishroom I have a tank that I put my adult albino bristlenose in amongst other fish until I could prepare the breeding tank. Anyway, I saw it in the afternoon and the next morning it had just dissapeared, but the other fish are all still there :-? There was no trace of it anywhere, the tank only had a small internal filter, a piece of driftwood to graze on, a small cave, a heater, and all the rest was water. I moved and checked everything but this bristlenose is nowhere to be seen Surely if it died for some reason you would see it in the tank dead the next day and not missing completely. The tank has tight glass fittings on top and the other fish were much smaller than it and could not possibly have eaten it (small apistos that are feed every day). What could have happened to it and has this happened to anyone else? It is quite annoying as I've mostly seemed to only have bad luck after setting up this shed (been ripped off on some fish etc aswell ) and its costing a fortune The only thing I can think of is that its been stolen... Hopefully not though because the only people to know about this shed and all the fish are people off here who have came to view and buy other things from me And why would this have been the only fish missing? Surely the thief would have taken other fish aswell?? Might be time to padlock the shed?? What are your guys thoughts? Don't want to give up just yet Thanks
  4. BTW That cert I got was mainly from my internal credits, and that was only because the teachers sort of liked me I think
  5. You did good aswell wilson You passed NCEA Lvl2 and thats whats important Roll on level 3
  6. Yikes that was scary Not very pleased with my marks  BUT managed to fail nothing and scrape that endorsement cert of excellence, useless compared to my level one marks though :-?

I was going to ask exactly the same thing Whats the story with this??
  8. If you add colourful guppies to an existing guppy collection you should begin to get more colourful offspring. The genetic laws are really complex so you will get a huge variety of fry.... Just give the bucket a good rinse and it should be OK
  9. It is probably head growths and nothing to worry about. Comets can often be slightly crossed and so can eventually develop wens with age
  10. Because they are babies it should be OK, BUT the problem with small containers like that this time of year is that the low water volume means huge changes in temperature fluctuations throughout the day, so maybe something abit larger for all the guppy fry (say minimum of 40L...) Do you have a spare large storage plastic container or large bucket spare?? As for feeding, they should be OK with crumbled flake Goodluck! 8)
  11. If you want to save the guppy fry then definately take them out of the pond, the goldfish would quickly eat them all otherwise. Just put them in a largish container with the pond water. Hope this helps
  12. Congrats on the babies If the guppies are albino you could only expect about 20 fry per female maximum at one time, and for norml black eye probably about 40ish??? You probably have heaps more in the tank that you can't see
  13. Do be prepared though, as ryanjury said they do require a bit of work and time to breed
  14. I have heard of them breeding in NZ before, not ATM though I don't think, its a fish I am looking at for breeding in the near future
  15. Yeah, I doubt three frogs will need that size tank
  16. I've been offered a fixed price offer for it, $100 Don't want it though, was thinking maybe a frog habitat :-?
  17. MERRY CHRISTMAS- Hope everyones having a great day!!
  18. Don't know if i'll be on here too much in the next couple of day so I wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  19. Hmmm maybe i'll be selling it then Looking at it front on it looks like those long finned bristlenoses that have been currently for sale on tm. It is 2-3 years old and is only about 14cm so might not have grown enough to be a pleco??? Thanks for the link, you are right, it does look similar, will check out the number of rays 8)
  20. nah good on you for trying to work out how much they cost, I always try to work things out too (they cost $550 ). Lets just hope people will be interested later on so i can onsell some young and get some of the money back
  21. Thanks kenneth, looks like she can join my large community tank then (Actually i'm quite lucky because there are currently adult female albino BN's at my LFS so I can buy one of these to partner up with the male I got from you ) Thanks for the input, looks like an albino pleco then
  22. Sorry if this does sound dumb  , its probably obvious what it is but the thing that gets me is how big it is compared to a large albino BN male and how the tail, dorsal fins etc seem to be longer than any female albino BN I have ever seen... I think once this is answered it will put an end to all the dumb questions I have been asking
  23. Hi , I hope this link is allowed as it has the best photo of a pleco I have bought off trademe (much more yellow in person than the photo shows). I was wondering if this is some sort of long finned albino bristlenose or a standard albino pleco? Its larger than a large albino bristlenose male I have just bought but looks somewhat similar, but seems to have longer fins. If it helps, it was purchased from Jansens about 2-3 years ago. Does anyone have any idea whether it is a pleco or bristlenose? I think it must be a albino bristlenose as I researched albino plecos and they don't look much like this, are more brown in colour and have a distinctive head shape, but again she doesn't look much like a standard albino BN either :-? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 593281.htm Thanks
  24. Roski, will try to get some decent pics. And BTW, if you saw the $200 for four pairs on the other thread, that was for a MUCH cheaper strain I bought, I wish I could have got these moscows that cheaply, lets tripple this price and you are basically there for the moscow strain I still can't believe all my hard earnt cash is now "invested" in guppy strains  :-?
