  1. they will possibly catch up to the other frogs pretty quick.
  2. Ive found they often grow at different rates, nature has funny ways. When restricted in captivity, best to do as you have and separate the sizes as they grow/vary.
  3. bit young to be working imo  theyre neat at that size. great pic
  4. When giving her the marmite water earlier. I sort of eased the syring into the side of her mouth/lips, she didnt open up much, but enough for me to slowly inject solution. Took a couple of attempts, she was getting stressed hence didnt try a bug today. Any tips appreciated as I can see it being a challenge.
  5. i did ponder about trying to syringe out the abdomen contents of some large crickets. blender sounds like the go. will go add some fresh greens to the crickets now, good thinking
  6. She appears to have regained some colour to her body since having a little marmite earlier. Seemed to look better within an hour. Will get some food into her tomorrow. Not sure what to offer in the way of mashed up foods via syringe.. May just try putting a bug in her mouth.
  7. cool so i dont have to do my first liver transplant just yet. thanks for your input Jennifer
  8. thought id offer her some slaters (one of her favourites) before the marmite. almost ate one, she went for it but it went under dish and that was enough to lose interest. looked like she dribbled when trying to get the slater. was drinking water from bowl just prior so maybe just that, bit weird though. dripped some watered down marmite on her nose, shes lapped up a little bit, may open mouth and give her a shot soon. wonder if i should try put a small insect in her mouth. i know with healthy dragons, if they flare up and you drop a bug in their mouth they gobble it up like an automatic response... will have to physically open her mouth i think, what do you think?
  9. Cool, i like that moth. Seems like a great camera.
  10. will try marmite this avo. have to go upto the shop so will grab some soon. have been trying to leave her alone since yesterday. she wont like having a syringe in her face but i think its worth a shot. she can still see me coming a mile away. suppose thats a good thing. thanks for your help, much appreciated
  11. glass tank? if so maybe cover a couple of the sides, sometimes just there reflection can stress them out (black beard). maybe just a sprain.
  12. very guey, like egg white. urates + egg maybe? looks like little 1-2mm shardes of glass in there....maybe egg yoke? true colour spread out. above pic in blob wasnt as yellow as that to my eye, more yellow than when spread out though.
  13. no microscope. will see what i can do with camera. pic is unedited, pretty accurate. havent bathed her this morning. suspect thats what shes been passing in the water over last day or 2. doesnt look right.
  14. i like that bird pic. how about showing us ya macro function
  15. Farming and catching fish from a stream is very different. Just pays to know what your catching, not worth the trouble. I would assume fish farms have permits (or something) especially if farming species on the above list...
  16. Yeah can always upgrade down the track once theyve grown a bit. Its nice to give them a little room to hop Sounds like your onto it. Regarding plants and how to setup, thats more or less down to personal preference and what works for you. 1/3rd water is probably heaps, plenty of room for land or just pot plants and logs would do. or pot plants burried in the substrate. Could go all out and make a back ground, i normally just stick to driftwood lol Keep them fed and the water clean and its hard to go wrong. :bounce:
  17. Yeah will be ok for some time, maybe for ever but I like to keep bells in 90cm minimum. 120cm is a good size for a few adults. As long as theyre active and eating I wouldnt worry about the colour.
  18. anyone tried crickets in them? mealworms even? i suspect they could chew through the material.....
  19. I find when first morphed theyre best kept in a small plastic/simple tank for first 2-4weeks. easier to make sure they morph and get onto live foods etc. bigger is always best in the long run. if you end up with 5 bell frogs, 1m long tank be ok imo. welcome to the forum
  20. check this photo out. closer the drops of water to the left and right in above pic
  21. pic above was taken on a cheap point and shoot lol below is one i took on new cam the other day. ok but not great. (unedited, just cropped slightly)
