  4. Thanks Stella. Neat plants for how simple they appear at first glance.
  5. Interesting, did wonder if it was a different species. so is this the native one below?
  6. Yeah your right, should be medium-dark grey all over. black beard and down sides isnt normal either. shes very stressed, needs to eat or lay eggs soon or she will be toast. :-? edit p.s shed 3/4 weeks back, so not due i dont think.
  7. I see Raids Natural Pyrethrum comes from daisies. "Even small amounts of pyrethrin are enough to kill most common insects" quote off raids website. I wonder if there is anything similar on the market that works simply as a repellent.
  8. I wouldnt, if it kills bugs then it cant be good for us or our pets. even if we are much bigger. must be some plants you could keep around the house to help repel them. Seem to recall (could be completely wrong) my Nanna having marigolds in the garden to keep them or maybe it was another insect away.. flies can be a real nuisance huh
  9. did you have any trouble getting a permit to keep them indoors?
  10. been meaning to get a pic of this azolla for a while. looks like detritus is making the really fine roots visible??
  11. thats a cool pic. hydra are normally white. or atleast to my eyes
  12. The one that is currently sick, is actually the sister to the one i autopsied. Didnt pair her up last year after other one dieing, this one been looking so good until now. orange around eyes is stress related i think. not easy to tell but back top part on head appears sunken in, and the eyes slightly. Just gave her another bath out in the sun, now basking out in the sun. She needs a boost of energy or something.
  13. lol sneaky. yeah all those pics from the one i had pass on last year.
  14. this (looks like dried blood) was on her basking rock next to where i found her one morning. something lapsed? did wonder about mealworms but i really dont know, just hope this other one isnt heading the same way.
  15. didnt open up more than that for memory. other than taking intestine? out, see 5-10mm worms like things on right...other thn that to my untrained eye, she looked ok. and maybe a bit fat, and that red lump thing on fat pad which i dont know if hints to anything..
  16. haha i went searching follicles, next thing that pic was on screen. came back and you'd explained it all anyway
  17. cheers, just came across it http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/l ... ience.html looks very similar to one i had pass last year. so if she dies before laying you cant exactly open her up and find eggs. :-? will try get more calcium into her, didnt want to eat today, one cricket yesterday.
  18. yeah i should of had temps right for a start, she would have had access to good temps up until two days ago though. and out in the sun on the good days. thats interesting re liver, never knew that. yes please always keen to see pics
  19. still looks dehydrated, bit sluggish. just gave her another bath. she passed some white stuff and bubbles but no #2s gently felt stomach when in water, almost 100% sure there's eggs in there. hope she comes right, biggest dragon i have, always been a good strong dragon. anyone know optimum laying temp and substrate moisture?
  20. hard to miss, seen turtles try it on to. call it what you will
  21. yeah its all about being a good bugger at the end of the day.
  22. just went to put the container i was using to photograph this grasshopper in, back in the cupboard. and what do i find in there, another one. I released the one above so thought it may of found its way back inside, but the new one seems slightly smaller and no yellow dots on top. Unreal never seen one before, now two. Must like my man cave
  23. i have been a bit slack checking temps as of late  . just checked and her basking temp was at 34C. Put her in new setup with rock at 42C and shes spread out on it gave her a quick warm bath this morning. pro-biotic a couple of days ago. was thinking stress was causing parasites to give her grief, but maybe just temps thinking about it now. may get fecal tested this week anyway. I like that idea Repto, but she hasnt been digging alot but was doing the obvious head down trying to dig the other day. Too lower temp would explain lack of trying to dig, fingers x'd thats all it is. Cheers guys.
