  1. Noticed a 3year old beardie trying to dig on her basking tile the other day (never laid before) but has been with a male recently and looks gravid. She has access to damp sand for laying, but seems really stressed, ate a single cricket yesterday but other than looking at live food shows little interest. Appears a litle dehydrated, eyes sunken a little and top of head, which is why im little worried, had one similar last year and she karked it pretty quick after laying. . other than taking her to the vet, has anyone got any ideas on what i can do to help her pass the eggs and or get her over this little state? tia
  2. yeah you would think in this day and age batteries would be much much better. time lapse would be awesome, i will have to try that out myself. so many functions so much to learn
  3. no caves near by (that i know of) very small bush within a couple of kms from here. i wonder if they could live under houses.
  4. have an old laptop, but that needs a new battery and its pretty slow so im not sure its up to it. Do you use the live view on laptop out and about of just at home? Will have to try live view on the pc here.

  7. many ways to do it..try search thing up top. or google. poly, grout some and sort of sealer would be the simple way. some one else may want to shed more light but try the search thing, have a feeling this topic may of come up before.
  8. wds get big, almost need outdoor enclosure, or walk in one indoors with uv lighting. cant beat the sun though.
  9. best to. could make mesh top, sit lights above that, depends a little on how your setups is made or going to be made.
  10. Why not? Its a good place to get the word out about this site.
  11. Looks good No mention of us herpers though, lol just joking. With the changing times one probably could change it to FNZARS though
  12. Chelodina longicollis, thats a mans name for ya lol
  13. just dont let it eat bark like in the vid lol
  14. not sure about legalities but a cage in the stream would work well i assume, but you would need to feed them something. they like it cold i think, hose from stream into bath/pond then overflow back into stream etc would give them constant fresh water....
  15. cheers man. making head way slowly Great but i need a macro lense , or maybe just a tube thing so i can get better closeups. Still figuring out the basics really, but so far very happy with it.
  16. dual looks best. i reckon bells do best with a basking light, in a small/tall tank like that they will be ok but the whole tank will tend to heat instead of giving them a gradient/hot and cool areas not that that matters alot for bell frogs, its just less natural. in saying that i have used 40watt basking bulbs in exo terra clip on lamp above same tank before. small halogen bulbs possibly enough for basking. Below is what i use for whistlers, low power consumption, not alot of heat but enough for them to bask if they wish. (i removed glass, snapped plastic stick thing off, put on top of same tank as mentioned above in conjucntion with a fluro tube for plants). http://www.mitre10mega.co.nz/shop/light ... te_101263/ EDIT sorry thought you mentioned 45x45x60 tank above. Which is the one i have and is not the best for bells. Dual unit be best for that tank you have, or make something yourself? Id just put a fish tank light and exo terra basking light (or 60watt desk lamp) myself.
  17. thats good to know, rather you try it first than me  1 meter or less is a nuisance eh. be good to have ballasts under the tank in a cabinet with a fan on thermostat = possibly heat the tank for free?
