  1. *goes to sit on the other side of the room... away from all the canon peeps... with my beloved Nikon D300s* Another photography nut here!
  2. OMG! So so soooooooo jealous! Would love to have a set up like that for my frogs one day!!
  3. Nope.. tail still SEEMS to be the same length, and he's definitely having no problems at all eating! These guys are greedy wee things! LOL!
  4. But the one who seems to have shrunk, is still not showing any other signs of morphing. no leg buds trying to push through or anything.
  5. Ok, I got my 5 tadpoles from a pond several weeks ago (13th of December to be exact), 2 of which were smaller than the other three. Now the bigger 3 have grown more, but the 2 smaller ones haven't grown AT ALL!!! Plus, one of the 3 bigger ones actually looks like he's shrunk over the last 2-3 weeks! Weird! Can this happen, or am I probably just imagining it? And any ideas as to why the other two haven't grown at all? No idea what water temp is as I don't have a thermometer to check it, so maybe it's the water temp? They're all eating fine and healthy otherwise. Only one of the bigger 3 taddies (the biggest) has actually started to morph... just both his back legs so far. Woulda thought they'd all be nice big taddies and all morphing/morphed by now! So confused! Any advice appreciated. TIA!
  6. Overfeeding the tadpoles so they're not eating the snails?? Hmm, maybe I need to remove some of the weed then! lol! Never realised boatment could fly!! Always thought they just stayed in the water! There's still about 3 in there, but there were quite a few smaller ones at one stage and never noticed them get bigger.. they just disappeared, which is why I'd thought the taddies might've eaten them. I love watching the watersnails too.. so if they're not actually doing any harm in there, I'll leave them. The babies are such tiny teeny wee things!
  7. When I first caught my tadpoles, I managed to accidently catch a couple of water snails, and I'm guessing, a whole pile of eggs too... then I got them some oxy weed, and I noticed several lots of snail eggs on those! Now my tank has LOTS of baby water snails crawling about. I've been told it's not good with FISH to have too many water snails in the tank, so am wondering if it's the same with tadpoles, or whether they'll eat them? There are a few waterboatmen in there too, and I've noticed all the small ones that were in there, have now gone, and there aren't so many of the big ones either, so I'm guessing the taddies have been eating them. If I need to remove baby water snails... is there anyone wanting any snails??? LOL!
  8. So glad to hear that she seems to be doing better and is now laying ID! Awesome news. :happy1: Good luck with the eggs.. can't wait to see pics of baby BDs!
  9. Absolutely LOVING your photos ID!! I'm slowly getting my head around photography too...focusing mostly on nature photography. Can't wait until my taddies morph so I can practice on them.. lol!
  10. Sorry to hear your BD girl isn't doing too well ID (and for your loss of the one last year. ) I hope she comes right and pulls through ok. Good luck!
  11. Yay.. that would be good. We don't have much space around here, so one tank would be preferable. Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated. I'm sure there will be PLENTY more questions to come! LOL!
  12. Cool.. I'll sit back and wait to see what happens then, and stop running around frantically trying to find another small tank for when the smaller taddies morph... or should they be kept in a seperate tank even as frogs, since I'm guessing they'll probably end up being small sized Bell frogs??
