  1. I must say tht guy on tradme has some of the nicest most healthy looking plants ive seen, hes obviously done his research, I used to tooto around with hydroponics abit when living at home and tried many plants in my plastic houses and was fully blown away at the growth rates that could be achieved! Im sure they will adjust to been fully submersed but cant say ive tried even growing aquarium plants as of yet or tried adjusting them, what are ppls thoughts on this?
  2. WOT THE, yea yea yea we only live once there's more to worry about in todays world then having to bigger fish tank. she'l be alrite, infact imo bigger the better  Maybe this is meant to be a joke and ive missed something
  3. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting ... 086213.htm I wanna setup a pressurised co2 thing for a planted tank will these bottles work? Any help or advice would be great thanks Matt
  4. Just keep the turtle well fed and maybe give the mollies some rocks to hide in if your going to keep them in there and want them to live! Bt I'd say sooner or later the mollys will become the main meal in a turtle tank. P.S didnt you get ya hands on some mollies mystic?
  5. very good point, always good to make them work for there food hence why live fish are good to but yea ive been slack so ill try get them working out abit more
  6. Welcome and yes agree this is a great website even though it seems there are more an more rules popping up lately. ENJOY
  7. The red ears are pretty good and will take alot to fatten up but i find my reeves are always hungry and they dont take too much before they are bulging out of there shell, at the mo im tryna keep they on a diet as funny as it sounds lol
  8. as long as you have a good fluro (reptile tube init, replaced yearly) and a heat lamp or emitter of some sort (i just use a normal 60 watt houshold buld for 1 tank) theyll be up an basking all the time, they love the heat and need to dry out so a heat source for basking under is essential IMO. feeding wise a good rule of thumb is they can/should eat twice the size of the head each day, but ive also herd feed them as much as they can eat within a 15min period, generally i feed them once a day when young and once every second or 3rd day when 3+yrs old. You should soon know if your feeding them to much or nt, check under there limbs, a fat turtle will be bulging around the back legs and a skinny 1 will have a hole or large gap sorta thing, hope tht makes sence!
  9. there maybe other stuff for constipated turts im not sure but if its a stone it should pass in time, well 1 would hope so anyway. Some turtles I bought a while ago went into a bare bottom tank and they were popping stones out for a couple of weeks
  10. try peas i think theyre good for constipation, have you gt pebbles or stones in the tank as they will eat them and can block the turts up. You can use big stones but personally i dont use anything in my turtle tanks now & it makes cleaning easier IMO!
  11. Hi there welcome along, this is a great site with heaps of knowledgable ppl, enjoy

  15. A freind was told by a pet shop it would be fine with her mollies & platties etc but she said it was chasing them around so I have now got it in a tank with gouramis and it seems fine, but changing things around and need a home for this we fella. Only small would be around 8-10cm's Anyone interest let me know!
  16. yea cheers Frenchy  Yea I sorta get the drift now but still dont agree 100% but enough said on my behalf! Hey nice signature, I maybe that idiot
  17. Ive had plecos and goldfish which all seemed ok for a while but the turts 1 in the end! Convicts are what ive found best in with the turtles but even they MAY end up as tucker but only time will tell I geuss!
  18. The reason I put my original question here is I dont beleave in keeping things underwraps and think It should be up for discussion and if not then there should be answers as theyll be out in the public sooner or later and if the fnzas covers them up then it doesnt look good for them or us the members. I also have a genuine interest in what people think on the issue of GE fish. I wasnt going off topic, and I was definately not trying to manipulate your thread, nor was it for my own agenda I was just trying to add on a discussion regarding an interesting topic which has now got many questions unanswered for the rest of the fish keepers & members of this site!
  19. Ka Im not sh*t stiring as you put it, your sht stiring with what you put, yes i could send it to warren but then why cant we all discuss the ge fish (red danio or whatever) here? I didnt even read the huge thread on the red danio and now dunno what the story is with it, if we cant discuss this here then what can be, I mean we are talking about fish arnt we, or did you want to talk about GE corn? I dunno about paying head but I will no doubt be paying attention to these sorts of fish in the future, whats so wrong about discussing it so everbody has fair view on the pro's & con's of these fish?
  20. Red Danios Thread, Whats up warren how come we cant talk about it, this is a fish forum after all and it was rather informative? Thats got me stumped, I mean what can/cant we discuss on here if we cant discuss the latest fish coming into thy country?
