  1. Well did abit more looking around today, went to the pool place in waikanae and in pram but no luck, also went to farmlands but no good either and the couplings would be perfect but they only come in sizes upto 50mm so im told and the pipe I used is 65mm. The product tankman mentioned sounds good but too pricey for me, thanks for the suggestion all the same!! So for now ive taken the pipe out and just taped the 2 holes up with some wide insulation tape and that seems to be holding for now, otherwise was gonna go and get a new pond liner but cant be bothered today, so ill see how the tape holds and may have to replace the liner in the weekend if not before!! Thanks everyone for your suggestions
  2. Such cool cats, I would love to get some but will have to wait for now as prices are too high for me at the moment! Hope all goes well with the breeding side of things, that would be so wikid to see little 1's of these swimming around, good luck not that you need it!! :bounce: :bounce:
  3. What a kool setup, will be interesting to see how you get on!! 6 of the critters did you get them from phill??
  4. Yea I like your idea but i dont think theres enough slack in the lining so Ill keep thinking, something will come to me, otherwise it looks like another $40 smakas for anuda lining but hopefully it wont come to that! The turts must think its monsoon season as its atleast half empty then i refill it each day lol, hopefully get it sorted this week as the hotwater bills gonna be getting up there this month dammit!!
  5. Lol true that, yea im not that stupid (maybe) I did look all around the place, i was gonna ask someone but hardly anyone on the floor and everyone i did see was busy so got a couple of pillows and made a run for it, it wouldnt surprise me in lil old Levin didnt have any in stock!!
  6. OK well, been to the water centre, mastertrade, crightons, plumbing world an plumbing solutions and even palmers garden world but no1 wanted to help me and kept sending me to other places lol, what a mission and still got a leaking pond! thatll teach me for just doing it in a hurry and just sticking a pipe through!
  7. What part of the warehouse did you find these, I couldnt see them anywhere here and wasnt really any1 around to ask, so i came home with a couple of new pillows instead lol!

  10. Haha fair enough, It seems a shame to have to get rid of a nice plant but if its a pest then best to minimise the spread + there's plenty more plants out there I can use I suppose!
  11. Dammit looks like ill have to destroy it and try find some spagnum moss!! thanks for the info
  12. What about fiberglass or maybe that glue thats used with pvc piping that sorta melts the plastic then sets really firm?
  13. Ive been meaning to redo my turtle ponds for some time and got sick of trying to plan it out so decided a week or 2 back id just do it 1 afternoon and it turned out ok for a temporary thing but been in a rush I decided to stick a pipe through from 1 pond to the other and siliconed it in but the silicon has come away from the pipe so now im toping up the water every day so really want to get it sorted sooner rather than later!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as its sorta holted me from finishing it off & really dont want to rip it up and start again!!
  14. Lol, yea I get what you mean. Cheers yea the dogs are neat, 1's a very proud 9mnth old boxer, hes a real character an the others my lil gal, shes about 3yrs old now an shes bit of a mungrel like sharpei x staffy x x but shes an awesome lil dog to say the least!

  16. Your onto it  , thats definately it, thanks alot! I got it from my Grandad as he had it growing in the bottom of his glass house full of orchids for years, doesnt surprise me its bit of a weed but in saying that a weed is only a plant in the wrong place, and it should be good in my newt setup! Thanks again-its good to know exactly what it is
  17. anyone know what it is and whether it will grow submersed???

  19. There was some in the stream down near the golf course in waikanae beach, dunno if its still in there this was atleast 2-3 months back! Maybe too far away from you though, I may be going down that way in the next week or 2 so could possibly check and go for a swim/kayak if i can be bothered!!
