  12. Is this ok, a couple of months back i started noticing mushroom looking things appear and die a few days later, setup a new tank the other day and one log grew a white flufy looking stuff about 5mm deep on shady side of log within 2 days? Interested to know others thoughts on this, whether safe and or if theres a safe way to kill it.

  14. thanks for the kind words everyone. Only finished on wednesday as was a delay to get last tracks. Will update pic when i get round to it
  15. Ive never seen planaria actually swimming, normally like a slug along the glass. ive seen what appears to be heaps of micro worms swimming in a turtle tank before...not sure what they were but havent seen them for ages.
  16. carrots ok as treat maybe once or twice a week. squash is better for bulking the salad up every/every other day. JMO just cut the squash into cubes and chuck in a blender. one squash goes along way
  17. poor Dave cops the blame  . Live and learn though and its great he's active (the beardie not Dave ) and hopefully makes a full recovery. As long as temps are good and uv light close enough (uv especially important to aid digestion of calcium) then can only get better
  18. nzpost dont cover live goods and or anything with a liquid because theyre prohibited items as far as im aware. Were lucky the couriers take our goods, package well and hope for the best. but 3 weeks is a bit tooooo long though somethings not right there.
  19. good to hear you got in touch with vet....so the carrot was the cause?
  20. Is this the blue turk you were talking about in the local pet shop?
  21. Thanks for the positive comments Definitely, started with a hiss and roar. Me and a mate put it together and had the first coat of poly on in 5 hours. The poly, doors and lights have been a bit more time consuming and fiddly but yea im happy shes so close to been done. Hopefully get the last tracks today (on order) so the rest of the glass can go in then just wait for polyurethane to cure properly and yea mission complete.
