  1. good point there trinity i always like to run a new tank for a while before putting any live critters in. the down side for the seller is they always get left behind something that no one wants.
  2. dripping straight on the eyes seems a bit extreme. i've only ever treated fancy gold fish with cotton eye and i use white spot cure and melafix together which works every time. salt would also work just takes a longer and i usually use the salt dip method rather than treating the whole tank with salt. hope that helps
  3. sometimes they get grey patches as signs of stress. are there plenty of spots that he can hide?

  10. algaefix worked for me but very strong chemical or u can to go the natural way use barley straw or barley straw extract.

  12. WOW 40 watt that's a monster of a UV-C system. i run a tiny 9watt on my 8000 litre pond. its crystal clear most of the time but could do with a bigger one though.

  14. i am a huge fan of UV-C systems and its recommended 2 watt per 1000 litre and ur need to change the bulb every year and the bulbs starts from $70 upwards. hope that helps.

    yeah from what he says its just "Paratya curvirostris" the ones u can get in the local streams as he supposedly breed them and raise them up in full strength sea water first. Ghost shrimps [Thalassinidea] is totally fresh water. also in the Q&A he said they range from 20 to 25mm so all he has is males? the sex is determined by their age and size.

    i do agree with sharn. fish need their rest too as so do alot of plants. my Krib parents rear their babys back in to the cave at nite so i guess their sleeping :-? and i notice alot of plants close their leafs at nite too.

  22. yep, i do exactly the same as JoandWilly and i also have the Aqua One CF1200. ur never goin to get a strong current out from it as its not design for that.
