u'll never know they were willing to sell at $600 each no reason why they wont now for that price. they had their go at breeding them which i guess didn't go very well  give them a call let us know how it goes.

last i heard of them yes they still have them but just not offered to the public as once they found out there was a 2 year waiting list [which i believe they are on] to get anymore they decided to keep for them self. [just looking back that was May 2005 so its only another 9 month?? before they get more ] why not give them a call and make an offer they couldnt refuse

u'll have to do better than that there is an magnums [around 7cm]for around $80 at Jansens. u wont get many buyers thats willing to pay $400 for L047s about a year ago hollywood had L046 at $500? and none got sold.
  5. well L number is just an easy way to separate them apart with out giving them a new scientific long name or common name for that matter they are still in the same species other wise when u say BN it can mean GBA, albino BN, marble, golden marble, marble long fin, albino long fin, starlight............etc
  6. sound like time fore more tank

    skunk loach

cool lucky score :bounce: they're reasonably peaceful fish and would eat just about anything that gets to the bottom of the tank also any snails u have. they can get a little nippy but not a big deal since they're always at the bottom. good idea to have 2 or 3 of them together though
  8. u can get slowly sinking food from ur LFS or simply put the food under the water rather than sprinkle on top
  9. hay springer do u have the site u got this from?

    Hi

hay springer welcome nice to have another pleco fanatic on board since we lost a couple the past weeks due to need more time for work and education
  12. if it was me i would say its the right ones
  13. excellent site there Caryl, thanks
  14. i think they look horrible in fact they look so bad u should get rid of them so hurry up and move them to my place    JUST KIDDING! great set up how big are those apple snails? [its not often u see all the snails bigger than the fish ] what is ur plan for the large tank?
  15. my breeding pair breeds in the community tank but never have any survive and the father always tries really hard and defending. then again this community tank is full of young convicts kribs and a fire eel :-?
  16. looks great is that the only filter running in that tank? no skimmer and so on..
  17. i am sure that's what most of us use wadding, dacron etc........
  18. ur welcome it actually took me a while to come up with the idea thinking what i would do if i was in ur shoe, so stoked ur actually doing it :bounce: :bounce:
  19. hay jimbo, plants are great and ur fish would love u for it too. depending on the size of ur tank all u need is some good lights aquaone double does the trick for me with tanks up to 3 foot. ur find that ur tank is alot cleaner with plants as they feed on all the left over etc.. give it a go couldn't hurt
  20. u can do both but if u leave them they tend to send out runners quicker and faster then if u cut it off and replant them. but cutting and replanting gives u bigger individual plants so depends what ur after.
  21. which model do u have? both the EHEIM Professional II Thermofilters has their heating element at the bottom and is an easily replaceable part. i only ever had the 2126 but i would assume the 2128 is the same just bigger. i wouldn't bother with it unless ur have $$ to spend its over $450 for the smallest one when u can get the ultimate canister filter for almost $100 less: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 893421.htm
  22. the same thing has happened to me before to small BNs and the reason i found at the end was not enough vegetables in their diet and they get bloated. sorry for ur lost hope u find the source.
  23. now i am not really a salty so i am not sure if this would work. u could buy one of those 1000L water tanks for around $100 [cheapest way i can think of] cut the top off and use as a big square tank. the only problem i am thinking of is cuz its a marine ur goin to need alot of ground space for corals, sand .....
  24. now as some of u know i had run in with maf and bio security and when they were around the maf ppl have these handy books that has all the plants allowed and not allowed in NZ with full detail like picture, common name, scientific name and ways to identify........ i had a good read though every time their around doing their thing and they said the book is available to the public now i was wondering maybe a president or someone along that line here can get hold of one and load it to this site?????
