    Hello!

 Ah yeah, that'll be it. That scale should clean off easy enough, a bit of elbow grease will do it. The white tubes are ceramic noodles for the biological filtration.

    Hello!

Hi and welcome. For some reason the link doesn't work for me. I get..... ''This content is currently unavailable The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.'' You should be able to clean the scale off with a razor blade. Redwoods are great and another good LFS is Organism in Ilam.

  5. I float small pieces of poly in my outdoor containers. The larvae cling around the edges, it's called 'rafting'. Then all I have to do is scoop out the poly/larvae with a fish net.

  9. Can we see what it looks like now? I've used several substrates in with my Africans and I prefer a dark, fine gravel/coarse sand.
  10. That is very sad. Please accept my condolences, 29 years is a long time to have a fish in your life.
  11. Tells us nothing, the water can be as clear as gin and still be toxic. As Graham has said, more info is required.
  12. Has the water movement lessened lately? From a blocked filter or an outlet slipping low or similar? I'm wondering if the O2 levels have dropped for some reason :dunno:

    New Tank!

Good one Holly, there's something very cool about setting up new tanks. I just love it. The Dem/E. Yellow is a great combination. How are you going to cycle the tank without fish? Will you be using the fishless method? i.e. adding ammonia?
