  1. It was the 'quakes that instigated the setting up of this tank. The initial planting, livestock and hardscape, barring one piece of wood, came from some of my 'quake affected tanks. Basically I consolidated 3 smaller tanks into one to reduce risk and make the post 'quake clean ups easier. This is a truly addictive hobby and a few shakes won't stop me. Slow me down, sure, but not stop.
  2. That's a nice look you've got going there.
  3. Thanks for the compliments people. Sorry man, I wouldn't have a clue. There's still a little floating in a spare tank if you want to come have a look. Hmmmm, food for thought, although there's not a lot of room back there.
  4. Estimative Index, used by Tom Barr. Basically it's a slight overdose of fertilisers throughout the week with a large water change weekly to 're-set' any imbalance.
  5. Cheers. Some of the plants were just too healthy. I had to get rid of the Ambulia, it just took over, as did the Chain Sword.
  6. Hi. I set this tank up at the end of July. 5 foot, approx' 450 litres, 2X FX5s, 4X 4 foot T5 tubes, pressurised CO2 with an in-line diffuser(although the solenoid has karked it so I,m dosing with Excel in the meantime), E.I. dosing. There has been some algae issues lately but I'm on top of most of it. There is still some BBA but I'm dealing with that. Three days old..... Three weeks..... Five weeks..... Seven weeks..... Over time plants have been removed and others added and this is how it looks today.....
  7. There are several sellers on TM. 'dangerousmagnet' and 'magneticmagnets' would be a good start.
  8. :an!gry Yeah, it's cruel as. It's been happening for years in some countries but I've never heard of it happening in New Zealand thank goodness.
  9. Maybe not but it would look pretty good on my bedroom floor Sorry for the old joke
  10. That's better. Looking good but if it were me I'd like to see more rocks in there.
  11. I reckon 2 hours is probably doing Ok although I don't have any experience to judge that on.
  12. Wow. I'd be keen for a swarm too.
  13. I'd say carry on shipping but maybe stay away from sending Clowns, they sound sensitive.

And they're strong too....Kelly Tarltons have/had one in a tank and they had to put sand bags on the tank lids to keep them down.
