  1. Aphids are a good food also--I forgot about them---so dam cold down here at the moment there aren't any around but they are popular when available.
  2. There are usually a lot of people looking for it so it should be easy enough to sell or give away.
  3. Acid water supplies corrode copper and brass so Local Authorities keep the water slightly alkali
  4. It will grow but the bigger the stones the harder it is to plant---very small plant with very small roots.
  5. So that is not a picture of you then?
  6. I spent years inspecting properties and if I had come across a garage like that I probably would have congratulated the people. Given a few years he will no doubt come accross some real garages. I have seen food premises worse than that. He should come and look at my garage---that would give him something to write letters about.
  7. Agree. It should come right by itself, just try to keep the nutrient down in the water with water changes and avoid over feeding.
  8. You could probably use the existing ballast to drive two 3 ft and one 2 foot lights or two 3 ft and two 1ft lights depending on the ballast.
  9. It is probably brown algae if it is also on the glass
  10. You cannot grow plants with the lights on 24/7 as they need a rest period. I push the lighting more than most but only go 17/7.
  11. The end braces don't do much. It is the front and back ones that are important.
  12. When I was making tanks, the ones we were asked to repair generally broke next to the centre brace.
  13. I wouldn't overdrive them. Sell it and get a 3 foot one.
  14. Mosses feed through the leaves so need nutrient in the water. You do need all three---nutrient, carbon and light. One or two is no use.
  15. I would be wanting Euro bracing on a tank that size.
  16. It was a long time ago. It got more and more difficult until they gave the idea away
  17. The easiest way is to add sodium thiosulphate then you know there is none.

    Breeding setups

So long as someone is breeding, them that is the important thing.

    Breeding setups

I have tried pure rainwater, rainwater with peat and mixtures of tap and rainwater with and without peat. I gave some of my Chocs away and they produced about 60 eggs last time I heard in the same tap water as mine. I will stay with the ones that will breed for me.
