  1. Remove all Carbon from this Tank before Treating aswell.
  2. Yes this thread is for Confused People ONLY :-? :-? If your not confused when you arrive at this thread, you most certainly will be by the time you leave
  3. :bounce:
  4. Good on ya :bounce: Hope it all goes well, don't blame you for not waiting, I wouldn't be able to wait either, get a thought in my Head and thats it's, the project in mind is becoming reality  Pics would be great
  5. All GOOD things come to those who wait
  6. Use a piece of pipe to syphon up the Fish Waste. I used to take the pipe off the end of my Gravel Vac, and use that. They dont need to be in alot of water at this stage, depth wise I mean. I would have the depth somewhere round 10cm. Water Changes everyday would be good too.
  7. Good Tip there whetu, thanks for sharing
  8. Patience is a Virtue Dixon
  9. I gave up half way
  10. Put it in the naughty corner and give it a good talking too
  11. BEWARE Clown Loaches are Scale-less Fish, which make them abit more sensitive to meds than other Fishys, you should really halve the dosage it says on the Bottle. I have Clown Loaches too, so if I get an attack of White Spot, I up the Temp to 28 then I dose with halve the dose they say on the Bottle, then re-dose again 3 days later, after doing a Big Water Change. The White Spot will have most certainly come from the Neons  Good Luck Lynda
  12.
  13. The other option would be to head to a Kitchen Manufactuer, see if they have any off cuts of Melteca. Then you wont have to paint it either Would just need the little bungs that cover the head of the screws.
  14. I'm thinking it's more like the Beard Algae It's not at all matty.
  15. Only have 4 Big Swords in my Discus Tank, maybe I need to think about adding some more plants to the Background. Had Hygrophilia, but it goes all scraggly after awhile so pulled it all out and chucked it away. Would Indian Fern be better??
  16. Thats the way I would go definitely Good Luck with it, would love to see a photo when you have it all finished :bounce: Did you get my e-mail??
  17. Personally I would remove the 2 pieces of wood you have on each end Then at a later date, you could screw MDF directly onto your the stand's Back and sides, you could even put cupboards on the front with shelves mounted on the inside.
  18. So will adding more plants help with this phoenix?? Wont bother wasting my Flourish Excel anymore then  What type of algae is this??
  19. I would chuck it back in the Bath with a couple of heavy objects on top of it, leave it there untill it absorbs enough water so it doesn't float, or do what Hans said and put it in your Tank with weights on it. I've found that the lighter coloured driftwood tends to float, more than the really dark.
  20. Can I ask you, is this driftwood Light or Dark in Colour??
  21. I have tried dosing with Flourish Excel everyday, hasn't seemed to have made any difference from what I can see  I did think about doing the Double Dosing thing with Flourish, not sure if this is a good idea with this algae being my Discus Tank. Finding it very frustrating  Any other ideas would be fantastic. Really not wanting to pull the Tank apart and Bleach the Driftwood, but I guess if thats the only option I have left, then I really have no other choice  Raewyna: I found your post very interesrting, maybe I'm having this green algae problem because I removed quite a few plants from the Tank about a month ago, by the sounds of it I need to add more plants back to this tank, and see if that fixes the algae problem.
  22. Well phoenix, I'm sick of it  You can have very little bit of it you can get, I would gladly get rid of it if I knew how too
  23. For some reason my Tank seems to suffer from this bright Green Algae, only seems to be on the driftwood though, is this the same Algae that Megs is talking about?? The pic below will show the type of Algae I'm talking about, I'm assuming it's the same stuff :-? viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39440&start=0
  24. Ohh phoenix, was just going to say, I have never heard of a Photobucket thingy called p44    The Back of the Lid is fixed and the front half folds up for easy feeding.
