  1. YIPPEE Looks like my Blue Turk is on the mend, he's slowly swimming around and not breathing as hard now either :bounce: When I checked him before heading to bed last night he wasn't looking good at all, really thought he would be DEAD by this morning, but surprise surprise, he swimming around quite nicely. So here's hoping he's going to pull through Lynda
  2. Well who know's what they were then  Half the time the people in the Petshop's don't even know what the Fish are :-? They looked the same as a Gourami, Cere chocolate in colour, they seemed to be alot larger than any other gourami that I've had. Might have to go and google Snakeskin, see what that comes up with Lynda
  3. Yea I do it that way when I'm doing a Water Change But if I'm on a day when I'm not doing a water change I then Dilute it.
  4. Have to say he is looking pretty sad at the moment, Very frustrating when you have done all you can, and you just have to wait and see what the outcome is going to be. There may still be hope for him yet, I had another Discus that didn't look happy when he arrived down from Auckland, he lay on the bottom of the Hospital Tank for 2 days, got up the next morning thinking he would be DEAD, but he was very happily swimming around the Tank like there had been nothing wrong with him. So I'm hoping this will happen with the one in the hospital tank at the moment. Fingers crossed.
  5. Well the pair were sold to me as Chocolate Gourami's :-?
  6. And I'm guilty of killing 2 Discus Doesn't look like the Discus I have in my Hospital Tank is going to make it, I've done all I can do for it now, so it's only a matter of time as to whether it will recover or DIE  Hate this waiting game
  7. If you have Scaleless Fish in your Tank and you have an Outbreak of Whitespot, it's best to half the dosage they say on the bottle. I half the dosage, turn the temp upto at least 28, leave for 3 days, do a big water change then dose with half the dosage on the bottle again. Usually by the second time round there is no sign of whitespot.
  8. Yes and on alot of occassions Fish die because WE keep them in Tanks :-?
  9. Awesome stuff, great to hear the stands on it's way Don't forget the pics.
  10. To be honest I would go with the Wonder Tonic or White Spot treatment, do you have any of these?? I don't think it's worth while waiting to see if the higher temp and salt are going to do the trick, why prolong this for the Fish, they're the ones suffereing with this.
  11. Why do you never have the gut to ship, If it wasn't for shipping we probably wouldn't have half the Fish we have here in NZ.
  12. I used to have a couple of Big Chocolate Gourami's, have to say they were the biggest Gourami's I've ever seen, seem to grow alot bigger than the others. Haven't seen them round for years
  13. Well Done JarrenB Keep up the good work
  14. Just in case I get the erge to buy some more Fishy's
  15. Have put this poor Wee Fella into the Hospital Tank now. Treating with 2 x Furan 2 capsules for the next 24 hours, then doing a near total water change, then treating with 1 x capsule for the next 6 days, this is all under the recommendation from DR Ron (Discusguru) Fingers crossed Mr Blue Turk he will pull through
  16. :bounce: Awesome Pics once again Sad to hear about the CBB
  17. Just set up the Plastic Box as my Temp Guppy Tank, found I had a smallish heater that also fits in the box perfectly. Seems to be working out pretty good, so if anyone needs an Emergency Tank in a hurry, this would be the way to go. They're Cheap, Light, easy to store and don't Leak
  18. I use either Wonder Tonic or White Spot Treatment, they both work a treat. Usually round 3-4 days and its gone, don't forget to do lots of gravel vac's around day 3.
  19. I've had Tropical Fish for over 10 years now Learn something new everyday Is your Platty side standing on his head and flashing everything, could be irritation from the meds, I've never had that problem with platties they're normally quite hardy.
  20. Width x depth x height then devide by 1000 to get the literage I get 264 Litres Hope im right
  21. Hehe, Now that would be great, I do find the need to use different emoticons from time to time. Will probably pick it up the Muzzy next weekend
  22. Excellent Write Up MarkLB I found it very informative
  23. Thanks for your thoughts on this idea guys, will be transfering my Guppies over to a Plastic Box this morning. Really need to get this Sick Discus sorted out, don't seem to have much luck with Blue Turks, the last Discus that up and Died on me was a Blue Turk Phoenix: Dont worry to much about a Temp Tank, thanks anyway, I'm heading up that way this afternoon, so thought I might go Fish Tank shopping Looking for a Display Tank for my Guppies, thought maybe I would go to another Aquaone 620 Display Tank. After all Hubby has just gone and bought a 1968 Mustang, so surely I'm allowed another Fish Tank and Stand
  24. GOOD LUCK Was going to mention Keyholes too. Awesome wee fishm one of my favourties after my Discus of course, I have 6 Keyholes as well, they would be the most docile of the lot, I think (well mine are anyway). Keyholes and Gourami's will be good together, I have 2 Keyholes in with my Gourami's. Send me a Link to the Auction I want to see YOU win Agecage: How do you contact Goldfish pagoda??
  25. Ohh NO Really sorry to hear that May have been the meds, just remember next time you have to dose when it comes to scaleless fish, half the dosage on the bottle, you may need to retreat the tank after a big water change. Hows the platty??
