    Sore Betta?

Most of your Supermarkets will have Rock Salt
  2. I have an Aquaone 980 Tank, I wouldn't think that the 850 would be any different, I have fantastic plant growth Feed my Plants with Flourish Excel as well, after every major water change, which is every second day, as it's a Discus Tank. I run Filter Wool where the exsisting filter would normal run through, works a treat. I also use the Duckbill instead of the Spray Bar.
  3. We dont have a BINN INN in Levin anymore, hence the reason why I have to pay extra and buy it at the Supermarket
  4. I have this same problem with my Aquaone Tanks On my AR620T I ended up fixing the problem by shaving away a small part in the corner of where the lid sits onto, this has helped any condensation drip straight back into the Tank. With my AR980 I have used the Door Seal Foam that someone else mentioned, I used this mainly because when I opened the Tank Lid the Water would drip all over the Tank Lid, so now it drips onto the Foam instead of the Tank Lid.
  5. Rock Salt from the Supermarket will do the same thing And far cheaper than buying it from your Pet Shop
  6. Maybe abit of Wonder Tonic or Melafix might help with healing the wound up abit quicker
  7. Great thing I found with using the ViaAqua® Stainless Heater was the Temp Dial is on the outside of the Tank so no need to get Wet hands if needing to adjust the it.
  8. Have to agree the Instructions on the Priming are not terribly clear at all. Here's what I do with my CF1200, once I've taken it apart and cleaned it, I then replace the Cannister Lid, place the Inlet Hose back onto the Inlet Side of the Filter, then I get a piece of the Tubing that goes from the Tank to the Filter, (You will probably have some left, if you have had to shorten the Tubing from your Tank to your Filter), Place the spare piece of Tubing onto the Outlet Side of the Filter, open the tap on the Inlet Side then Suck, this will then start to syphon water from the Tank to the Filter, once the Filter is full, I turn the Inlet Tap off replace the hosing on the Outlet side of the Filter turn both the Taps on, then turn the Filter on. I found this the simplest way to get the Filter Primed :bounce: I run Ehiem Substrat Pro in the 2 Bottom Trays, the Filter Wool in the Top Tray. Throw out the Bio Balls if your Filter came with them, your far better to use Ceramic Noodles.
  9. I've used the ViaAqua® Stainless Steel Heaters before and they are great. Good Price and lasted about 4 years from what I remember
  10. Awesome Stuff Matto :bounce: Keep us posted as to how it goes
  11. Maybe you have a build up of Bacteria in your Substrate I had a similar thing happen in my Tank, when I vaccumed I used to get Big Bubbles come up the Gravel Vac from the Gravel. I took everything out of the Tank then Gravel Vacced 1/3 of the Tank for the next 3 Days, never had a problem since. Not sure if this would be your problem as you say you stir up the Silica before you Vaccum. Maybe worth while giving it ago anyway
  12. What Substrate do you have if any?? Or is it a BB Tank.
  13. I have to agree with kiwipete I'm happy to read your longggggggggggg story Dixon
  14. I used to very carefully Syphon the Fry Tank with a piece of Air Hose
  15. Not quite sure why Vincent is questioning me about turning the Temp upto 32-33, I was told too by the Breeder I got the Discus off. All the Info I have read says when using Metro turn the Temp upto 32-33.
  16. I have Keyholes, Apisto's, Bolivian Rams, Swordtails, Platties and Neons together and they all get on well. I'm sure if you stuck with the Fish Types I mentioned above you should be fine with keeping the Fish you have Transfer all of your stones if you have any in your 60L Tank, plus all the Water and your exsisting Filter over to your new Tank and you shouldn't need to Cycle it for as long as Cam has said.
  17. Can I ask, Why are you waiting for your Hospital Tank to Cycle?? If you take water from an Exsisting Tank you wont need to wait for a Hospital Tank it to cycle, I do this all the time if I'm in need for an Emergency Tank, I take water out of the Tank the Fish has come out of and put tht into the Hospital Tank, then it's ready to used straight away. I have no idea what this White Slimy Stuff is that you and several other people are talking about, seems abit strange, maybe do as Jazzyjeff said and just leave it, see what happens then.

    Purigen??

Haven't had the time to pop the Purigen into my Filter, will try and do it this weekend Been thinking, I guess I'm going to have to remove this Purigen from the Filter, if I ever need to use Meds of any sort.
  19. I just got that E-mail too :bounce:
  20. I dont see why you couldn't slip the Clear Box into a Pantyhose
  21. You could always pop a Pantyhose over the Filter Inlet, so they Fry don't get sucked up
  22. WOW :bounce: Congratulations Cam Hope all goes well with the Eggs Sounds like your lot have been very busy.
  23. How long has the Tank been set Up for?? What sort of Canister Filter do you have?? What are the readings of your Water Parameters? I would get rid of the Bio Balls and replace them with more Ceamic Noodles to start with . I had this same problem, I have replaced the Bio Balls with Ehiem Pro Substrate which is Sintered Quartz, it has made quite abit of difference to the Clarity of the Tank.
