New Guy seems quite happy on his own, has been on his own for awhile at the Petshop, so I guess he's getting used to it now. :roll: I think he will be far happier with a playmate So will have 2 Blue Turks in the Same Tank, could look rather effective I think Blue Turk in the Hospital Tank is doing well this morning :bounce:

Rams can be very Territorial, especially if Breeding, they have a go at My Discus, if they invade their space. Rams and Guppies should be fine together.

Really Sorry to read this Jenna Popeye is a build up of gas behind the Eye, this it whats makes it pop out, same thing happened with my Keyhole, to be honest, I really don't think it was the Meds that made his eye pop, it would have been the build up of Gases. I don't know of anybody who has had success in treating Popeye, and having the Fish make a Full Recovery. They are never the same once they have been through this. I would have put Sharky out of his misery quickly, I know it's a hard thing to do, but far better than letting him suffer. I dont totally agree with the Freezer idea when it comes to sending a Fishy to Fishy Heaven, I think a quick blow to the head is far quicker. But we are all different so thats upto you. Anyway really to sorry to hear this very sad news. Maybe one day you can have a Sharky the Second

Right I've taken him out the Main Tank, popped him into the Hospital Tank and he looks fine. His colour has returned to normal, he's swimming round quite happily, and eating normally again. I'm now thinking he doesn't like being in with the other Discus in the Main Tank, not that I blame him, they did used to Bully him. Plan now is to give him a week or so in the Hospital Tank, feed him up, then transfer him into the other Tank with my New Discus.

He seems to be as Gentle as, he's in with a few Guppies at the moment. He was taken into the Petshop by a Lady, along with the Hoplo, they were in the same Tank together when they lived with her, so I didn't have the heart to seperate them, so now they are a Quarantine Tank together. He doesn't bother the Guppies at all, he just watches them swim past him, looks rather funny considering how big he his compaired to them.

Yea your right it does suck :evil: Unfortunately you are doing all you can for Sharky Jenna and now it's just a matter of hoping for the best. I lost a Keyhole to Popeye about a month ago, I hadn't seen him for ages, thought he had died and the other Fish has eaten what was left of him, then one afternoon he appeared, his eye had popped, unfortunately he died a few weeks later. You're doing a wonderful job, just keep giving him his meds and hopefully he will pull through with abit of time.

Ok I'm now thinking that maybe you should be halving the Dosage for the Wunder Tonic Obviously he is similar to a Loach as in Scaleless, so any meds should be dosed in Halves. Maybe Re-Dose him tomorrow, with Half the Dosage on the Bottle. Have you upped the Temp?? Do you have an Airstone in the Tank with him??

No, It's not the one I got from the Petshop Mincie. I got the other Blue Turk a wee while ago, along with a couple of others. All my other Discus get on great, but when I pop this Fella back into the Tank things go haywire, I'm not sure if the other Discus see him as a Stranger, even though he came with the other 2 Discus I got. He's now been taken out of the Main Tank, will pop him into the Hospital Tank again, not sure whether I need to be treating him with Meds again Just waiting for Ron to Reply to that. Wondering if maybe I pop him into the Tank with my Newest Addition once he's Fit and Healthy again, rather than popping him back into the Main Tank again to be bullied by the others.

I'm trying to reply to this thread and all I get is Server Error :evil: Not sure whats going on.

I used to run a very similar set up, with a Water Filter Cartridge inline in the Hosing. Used to change the Cartridge about every 3-6 months.

I got this Blue Turk Discus, he has been unwell for a wee while, but after spending sometime in the Hospital Tank and completing a course of Furan2 then Metro, hae has now decided to throw a sicky again :roll: He was Transferred back to the Main Tank a few weeks back, there is something not quite right about him :roll: He seems to hide away in the Corner, he has turned dark in Colour, and he does get bullied by the other Discus in the Tank which worries me, I try and feed the other Discus on the right side of the Tank and feed him on the left side, just to make sure he is getting something to eat. I'm seriously thinking of removing him and popping him in with the Discsu I get a few weeks ago. Should I move him into the other Tank with the other Discus or does he need another stint in Solitary Confinement once again, meaning the Hospital tank?? Any help would be great guys. Lynda

I too have an Algae problem and it's driving me Insane :roll: I absolutely loathe the look of it, makes me think my Tank is Dirty I have 4 Huge Sword Plants in the Tank, thought that would have been enough to keep the Algae at Bay but obviously not. Have tried dosing with Flourish Excel everyday, that doesn't seem to be doing much either :evil: Really not wanting to do the Double Dose thing with Flourish, as I Have Discus in the Tank :-?
