found this at http://groups.msn.com/Breedingtropicalfish/angelfish.msnw I think you could have 2. I have read somewhere esle that 20g is required for a breeding pair. I have 7 in 200L and the lap it up so you could try a couple.
  3. see mine are only like gibbon arms so 700 i think is my max.
  4. I wasn't sure what the magical egg crates were, i was thinkinf how is cardboard going to help with lighting, in search i found this http://www.lightingdiffusers.com/Store/ProductList.asp?sub_dept_id=5 I sure there must be someone willing to import for you welly lot
  5. I can only every seem to find bonnet at 6000k+ all the screw seem to be at 2400K
  6. It may be a pain to clean it it's 1800 to the top, however the tank will be at eye level for everyone. I think aslong as you could clean the bottom 1m sounds good.
  7. could it be egg binding or some similar birthing related problem as the only ones effected are females.
  8. I have been avoiding doing this because i was have to confess all (prehaps not all, but everything fishy  ) Currently i have 4 tanks setup 40L Guppy Tank + 1 Betta Female 55L Planted 14 neons 1 algae eater 1 pair of siamese fighters 140L Cichlid 3 Kenyi 3 Auratus 5 Convicts 5 Blue peacocks 190L Community 7 Angels (one Pair) 6 serpae tetras 3 penguin tetras 2 palties. Guppys

dependant on drop size i have grown some fry to the point where they won't be eaten then released them
  10. why not just ordinary PVC glue, there not a whole lot differnt i would of thought, just plasticing agent.
  11. for my two cents, i would have thought rigid would allow for better transfer of pressure from one point to another due to flex have the ablity to move under pressure.
  12. silicone is on sale at mitre 10 at the moment, $10 (just to share the info)

    beaf heart

conaquavict; what sort of quantity does that make? How long would it last feeding twice a week.
  14. Yeah i discussed this with one of the guys at HFF yesterday. He said if it was aggressive it would go ok with the convicts cause they could probably hold their own. However, at the moment it doesn't chase any of it tank mates and it's living with guppys neons and danios so i suppose time will tell maybe she ( i think due to the grey stomach) will turn out to be rather passive. I don't think chance is on my side with that one though.
  15. so what fish would you reccomend it went with? how about convicts? It's just i may be getting given one and i would like to know if i have an appriopriate home for it.
  16. cheers wok, the problem i have is that my tanks won't fit up the stairs, family are blocking the way   so they are resticted to downstairs, i had some water in a tank and it dropped to 15degrees so it can get quite cold. I have just brought some larger tanks so manybe i could divided them and heat the lot with a single heater.
  17. Would a red tail shark be ok in a tank with angels and a few larger tetras?
  18. alright thanks for all your advice, i knew it would come to bbs eventually, lol. will assess things bit more, mow a few more lawns and do a whole lot more research. Thank you
  19. Alan my email has now been added to my profile. I have had a look around at the website suggested and i think i have all the stuff i might need; Small tank(s) Peat moss (100L) Java fern, indian fern and java moss. Air pump (sponge filter will be made using Shuih's recipe) Lid All i want to know is do you all heat your tanks? I figure it probably won't be nessecary during summer and will be during winter? is that right. I was just think it could become alot more expensive if i have to buy a heater for each tank. Also I'm not a big user of BBS (student with no money) so is inforsia (sp?) then finely crushed flake ok for fry? (have made like a power for my other fry before) Thanks for your adivce
  20. i have thought of starting to get some killies, when we talk small tanks is 1 foot ok? and do they only require sponge filters or UGF? Plus what temp? If anyone has a good website that would be a help. Cheers, Tom
