  1. it will be about 1.3 metres max however i might only have two tanks. Do you still reckon its too much?
  2. i figure people here were most likely to know, what is the hansen fitting you all use on the hole in your glass. That is the very first piece. I'm looking to have 3 tanks one above another and have them overflowing into each other and the a fluval 403 to pump back up to the top. I had a look at bunnings and my local building shop but nothing quite right. Any help would be great.
  3. 12-14 would be my advice. That little tank of mine has them on for 13 i think
  4. you could always attach the lead flashing with cable ties, no rust
  5. 404 mght do it, eheim 2217?? if you've got $400 lying round. I saw that 404 go and thought to myself i should get it   I suppose you snoooze you lose
  6. Welcome to the site    Yeah it did take a while. Hope your finding everyone here as helpful as I've found them :bounce: My girlfriend and i may head out your way next weekend, will let you know
  7. you can weight it down with lead sinkers, bag of sand or pebbiles on it. Soaking it in boiling water can help. if you just weight it down then you can take the weights off once it doesn't need them anymore
  8. Fluval tronic and ment to be one of the better brands. glad to hear all is ok
  9. will probably be another 2-3weeks. ammonia needs to be zero as does nitrite
  10. the more the merrier with clown loaches, 2 minimum but more is even better. simfish; have you got any pics of the aquascaping in process??
  11. On the ratemyfishtank bit i think #9 is pretty creative, my fav from the sie.
  12. whole thread of full frontals can't wait :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  13. Thanks for your help wok did you manage to stop any of your fry getting eaten?
  14. I will probably get two or three bags. I'm sure one of the places round here will have some, just a matter of calling them and finding out or getting them to order it in for me.
  15. simfish: thanks for he tip, still trying to find some, most of the kings plant barns i have gone to don't have any. Good to hear java moss is going well. Need to see some pics of your setup soon wok: do you reckon all of them plus 10 neons or is that too much, the neons are a pain in the #### to catch!
  16. I think i might move my junivile blue rams that i got from kevin_wtgn into my 2" planted tank. However not sure if the bioload will be too much. The tank is extremely well cycled, been running for 10 months with almost zero problems. It is quite heavily planted, reasonable gravel bed depth, may add Daltons propgating sand if the move happens, running a twin fish 280Lph internal filter. Could i put 15 2cm and 15-20 1cm blue rams in here or do you think it would be pushing it? I will move them once they are large enough to defend themselves in my angel community tank.
  17. remember where you haven't already, don't screw fittings on because you'll only have to unscrew again
  18. you can learn to wire your entire house online, I'm sure there would be a few sites out there. If i was you I'd do some reading so your confident to do it yourself then get the sparky in to check once you've done it. That way your not paying them to do stuff you can do yourself. Certification is always good but a sparky won't always do a better job then you could. You know how you want it so do ti your way then get them to check.
  19. doesn't look broken to me at all. looks great :bounce: :bounce:
