Benjansss
as the title says can someone give me a list of crypts in nz or direct me to a post which already has one thanks Edited November 29, 2015 by Benjansss
Adrienne
It is near impossible to identify crypts unless they are left to flower which pretty much means growing them emersed.Have a look at the plant database on this website for positive ID's. alanmin4304
Bob from Redwoods imported many crypts years back when it was worth it but many have gone west. One of my favourites was nevili nevilli.
alanmin4304
In those days they imported Barclaya and some Aponogeton as well ---I used to propagate Barclaya and Apoogeton crispus in a previous life.

We used to swap plants when I was growing them. He was always in to crypts and I was growing a lot of Echinodorus sp.

Colour_genes
If you actually stop to read the instructions at the top of the plant listing it clearly says - We are starting to list our normal and rare plants and will eventually have buy now options, but until that is done here is a list of what can be supplied(not all always available, if in growing stage)Please e-mail any queries for price/size/supply availabilityThat means you cannot buy them online - you need to email them to ask about the plants! Colour_genes
Try their facebook page, maybe that will work for you https://www.facebook.com/pages/Redwood-Aquatics-Aquarium-Water-Garden-Centre/362922040384854 camtang
Adrienne
Even with the Redwoods and any shops list it is important to realise that the crypts they have for sale may not actually be what they are called. They are not trying to deceive you as that is what they buy them as, but without seeing them flower it is still a bit of a hit and miss affair. Can you get on to facebook? Benjansss
Yeah their Facebook works but as far as I can tell it doesn't list their products
Adrienne
Neither does their website except for the specials. It says to email them for price, size and availability.
alanmin4304
Most of the crypts at redwood wood have been imported by them and Bob Ward would be one of the most informed people in the country on identifying crypts. He has a lot of literature on flowers of crypts as well as info on DNA. Chances are that his identifications would be pretty spot on.
