skippy_49nz
little pit bull terriers when they want to be as well Not in the least. Lovebirds will BITE. If they aren't nice and tame they will go people at the first chance. Stick to the pitbulls, much safer and more stable.
firefish
Thought i'd do a bit of an update about jade. She's doing well. Bites a lot, never broken my skin tho 8) There was someone home during the day, but she go a job so i felt sorry for jade being by herself all day (except for the cats and fish!) So look who i got: I called her amber. She's in a cage next door to jades cage, hopefull to meet up tomorrow. Amber wasn't hand raised but much quieter than jade Amber is only 4 months old so hopefully i can help her be a little tame. I think Amber might be albino? I can see a dark red in her eyes from some angles that jade doesn't have. And cos she doesn't have much of a pigment. its a bit of a coincidence that i've got a yellow one and a green one cos when i had budgies i had a yellow one and a green one too
livingart
nice lovebirds it is not albino maybe creamino
firefish
Now that i think of it i was told she was a creamino. Last night i let jade out and put her near ambers cage, she started climbing the cage mainly to get to ambers millet spray. But that also got her closer to amber. Now they've touched beaks I think it might have been in a bit of an aggressive manner. i'm hopeing thats normal for when lovebirds meet :-? Not sure what to do with each other: the 'fighting' I'll try and post a video once its loaded

Southerrrngirrl
Hehe Jade & Amber are cute! This thread makes me want a bird. Sooo not a good idea with a houseful of cats though.
phoenix44
aww. you now have 2 noisy birds  they look adorable.
firefish
They're in the same cage now I had to pick up amber to get her into jades cage. Her beak is very powerful! With Jade being hand raised she doesn't really know what to do with another bird, but she wants to be friends with amber. She keeps on pushing amber boundary line which makes amber get quite aggreesive towards jade. Hopefully they'll settle down. Only time that Jade is really loud is when she's sitting on my shoulder and screams in my ear.... I've got 2 cats. they've kinda slaked the birds one each. Problem with hand raised birds is that Jade is not scared of cats at all and thinks she should be out of the cage even when the cats are in the room. Amber is completly opposite terrified of cats. Hopefully she'll learn to be a little less worried around them (as my cat spends every night on my bed)
