  4. I'd like to know if this fish is allowed to be imported into NZ. Alfaro cultratus Thanks Alan 104
  5. There is no reason the shop's name can not be named. You are only saying what type of fish he has available. In fact he may like the advert. Only thing I can see against it is that someone may go down and buy them under your nose. By the sound of it you have your cheque book out already. Those type of fish NEED crowding to be non-aggresive IMHO, and heaps of caves and hiding places etc. Alan 104
  6. Too cold Too hot Rong pH Big hungry fish that have bigger mouths than themselves. Lackof shelter Light colored gravel Too brighter lights Turning lights off and on, to darkness and from darkness. In other words, sudden light variation Poor water conditions from pollution, over feeding, dead tankmates. Filter being off for a long enuf period to affect the bacteria in it. Over aggressive advances by amorous mate. Defending their territory. Earthquakes. Ya sure you want to keep fish?? Alan 104
  7. Which is about 10 handfuls of gravel. Alan 104
  8. 1,433 litres =1,433 kg 310 gallons = 3,100 lbs. I think that's right Bill. Alan 104
  9. And what is wrong with that Chim????????? An excellent way to get ideas and to meet others on the same wave length. Why not be first and put your hand up. Rnb, watch ya time factors mate; 6 or 7 tanks in four hours is rather an optomistic think. Unless they are in the same street, ya know what I mean?? Having been on "crawls" before, I find the travel time is overlooked. At 6 tanks you are only looking at 40 minutes per tank. Also, hopefully you do, make sure everyone has a road map and location of the tanks to be visited and in what order. Another problem is the amount of use the toilets can get when twenty plus people turn up in an urgent need. A few crossed legs have been spottedby me at some of the crawls. Doing a tank crawl in Auck. doesn't come near doing a crawl in Morrinsville. All those trafic lights and cars, and cars, and did I mention the cars?? Alan 104
  10. Bart687 said So converting that to metric, and rounding off, it's 915mm long 610mm wide 760 mm high So multiply them out, that comes to 424 litres We were only working off the information that you gave the forum. Alan 104

    How big do

with all the money you can make with the GBN, buy some new plants of the same ilk. Anyway, the GBN are prolly enjoying munching around the BBA. Alan 104
  12. Shels, go to the top line where it says "Index" on the left and "logout" on the right. Halfway between is "SEARCH". Click on that, and when the page shows, type in whiteworms in the top slot, enter, and wait. Now read your heart out. Do the same with microworms, and brineshrimp. The areas are loaded with reading and information. Alan 104

    How big do

If you're tank where you are breeding the GBN is only for that purose. Why change things? Put up with the beard algae and get more babies. You may upset the parents into not breeding. Alan 104
  14. Try keeping them away from the glass wall. Alan 104
  15. If they start breeding Wok, I'm picking you'll have trouble. Try it tho Alan 104

    What's the Answer

Thanks for the answers guys Iinvited the person to come on line and help with the answers, but as you can see there was no response. Can't help those that won't help them selves. Thanks Bill, similar thoughts as what fishbait was thinking. But I'd still err on the water conditions, or a genetic malfunction. Alan 104
