  2. I think Billaney is trying to foul us as he listed Epiplatys dageti twice
  3. No I can't see the Vietnamese Cardinal Minnow coming in. I must say I am quit surprised by your statements Blue, as they appear to show lack of understanding of the import rules. I certainly wouldn't want Aussie to have control of what comes in or not as they are allowed bugger all as they have in parts a tropical environment.
  4. Yes they are easy to breed aren't they
  5. I don't think so Blue, at least not in this country as there NOT on the list
  6. I'm starting to fell I'm in the same boat as you. I have to nice males, bought what I thought was a female just a little bit smaller and a youngster. I am now getting the felling the fish I thought was a female is in fact a male and the youngster is looking that it's heading down that path too. So yeah anyone got a spare female or 2
  7. They should be Corydoras sturbai. Yes they will be sexable at 3cm, looking down on them is the best way.
  8. What the others said is fine, but for best growth, feed regularly ( only very very small quantity's ) and small daily water changes ( 5% a day would be fine ). A small B/N to help keep the tank clean is also a good idea.
  9. I bought some Ancistrus hoplogenys some years ago, I quickly realised they were not and never considered calling them by that name. So why would someone ignore what they were told, when a quick investigation would prove the point.
  10. For a large tinfoil I think anything less then a 3' tank is to small adodge.
  11. Is there some one local that could lend you a tank if thats the problem??
  12. You could try ( if you have the room ) to place him/her in a tank with peat for 2 weeks as I has anti bacterial and fungal propertys and was once used to heal / prevent infection to fish with damage as you have mentioned.
  13. Great to hear the move when fine, hope to see you next year at FNZAS conference.
  14. Velvet gets worse in the presents of strong light as well, so keep the tank as dark as possible.
  15. Actually I don't have many killifish right now just a few STUNNER'S Only 40 tanks evil ? I'm going to set up a little fish room for them with only 60-80 killi tanks. Yes you will be wow'ed by them fishy t Don't worry thou, you'll have heaps for room when you turn your African tanks into killi tanks :bounce: :bounce:
  16. Just get 1 2'er, divide it into 3 compartments :bounce: 3 killi tanks
  17. evilknieval69 wrote   Funny, I wish   fishy_t wrote I'm not, I got a heap of cleaning to do - not the tanks just the floor, there's water and crap every where Good thing I'm on leave
  18. A mountain I do climp..... I desided last year I needed a challenge so I bought some Queen Arabesque Pleco's and some wild panda cory's. The Queen's are still growing but not far from being large enough to set them up for breeding. Fancy cory's have for some reason been imposable for me to breed, I know how and I've been to friends fish room's over the years to see how they did it but still no luck. I think it is all down to not applying what I know properly. any way.. Over the last few day's I've been changing things in my fish room to more suit my needs. 1 of the things I did was take out a glass divider from a 90x45x30mmH tank to place around 100 cockatoo fry + some baby B/N and to help keep things clean I chucked in some bronze cory's and the pair of panda's I got that I just haven't found space for to try and breed. The water in the tank was made up of 50% RO water and regular tap water as I was mixing fish from different types of water. Into the tank also went 2 big wodes of spawning moss to help settle the 1+cm long fry down. This morning to my utter amasement there were very large eggs signally place on the glass but most throw the moss. They could only be from the Panda's I couldn't beleave it, I know panda's aren't that hard but wild cory's tend to be a bit more tricky then that. I didn't even have a heap of bubbles going to stimulate them so it must have been just the change in dissolved minerals as there was no change in temp either as I had plenty of water up to temp for the change around. It's so cool The only problem is as the morning wore on they all when white But hay at least they spawned once and because there in a fry tank they'll be getting plenty of food to fatten them up for the next attempt in a few weeks. :bounce: :bounce:
  19. Here's my thoughts and no they're not my killies, but I know who's they are. Very good price. The stiatum and p82's MAY cross breed but I think very unlikely, the Epiplatys certainly wont - no way can't happen - completely different genes. They will be very happy in your tank But you probably wont see them = they will get lost to your eyes It would be better to breed them and place the off spring in the tank as you will have more of them to see. :bounce: :bounce: And you can find out how by joining the club 8)
  20. The only problem with keeping leopard fish and WCMM together is they will eat each others fry
