This is in Auckland
unfortunately it didn't fit in my mailbox (as expected) however when I leapt in the car to go pick it up from the post depot, the battery was flat - go builders setting the alarm off all week and not telling anyone
So.. I shall sort the car this evening, and pick it up at lunchtime tommorrow
Seems to be the week for it
My jack is missing half his side fin, and I just had to rescue a -very- beaten up jewel out of the cichlid tank into my planted/baby bristlenose tank because it was facing certain death.
My Redhead cichlid has to go.. cute.. but far too fighty.. even my oscar's been attacked (same size as the redhead too)
Bluetom.. want to pm me your details.. then I can let you know when it arrives.
If it grows as well as everything else in my tank at present I'll have a heap more available real soon as well for other Auckland types
I had two (about 10cm).. now I have one
no prize for guessing what happened there
he is certainly good however for keeping the glass clean in my angry cichlid tank, and doesn't get bothered really
Stick the filter for the new tank into the old tank and let it run in there for a few days to a week... that way it'll get nicely primed with bacteria before you hurl it in the new tank with the guppy fry.
Righty.. I'm somewhat new to this planted tank thing, however the plants in my 430L planted tank are growing like wildfire, with me having to trim em every 3-4 days and replant the cuttings.
Now this is making the tank look fantastic and all.. however I forsee a problem... how on earth do I vac the gravel without hoovering all the plants out of the substrate... there's barely enough room between plants to get the gravel cleaner through as it is.
So.. how do people with heavily planted tanks keep the gravel clean?
If Anyone in Auckland who has gotten some of this from dubbieboy has it growing well I would be keen on some at some stage (saves asking dubbieboy to fork out for more shipping costs etc etc)
hehe... more pics (of course )
Counted 108 this morning, all around the waterline of the tank happily lined up. They were like that yesterday morning as well, yet by lunchtime they were back playing all over the tank... some kind of crazy group sleeping thing?
I have a network syno (14cm, fat as hell and still nice and stripy) who lives in with an oscar, redhead, convicts and jewels... seems happy enough and does a wonderful job of hoovering the bottom of the tank for me
Updated count at lunchtime.. 85!
that's what I can find anyways, and I wasn't looking all that hard (it's a heavyish planted 430L tank, so lots of hiding places)
