  1. keep it you never know when you'll want to use it for something else, hatching brine shrimp, running a tiny filter in a hospital tank, whatever
  2. The jack dempsy would eat pretty much everything else you have suggested, and still look hungry
  3. Unless they're chasing something     But yes, angels also seem to like going up and down as opposed to side-side
  4. Just get used to the fact that you'll hardly see the bristlenose It's a special occasion that I get to see mine hehe
  5. It's normal for a bristlenose to go hide, and seem to never come out, mine do it regularily. Food still disappears overnight though
  6. Mine munch on the algae on my driftwood occasionally as well
  7. Does this class as a breed? or a rebreed? Many congratulations
  8. hmmm, oilstone = hardware store.. where does one get sandstone from? (yes, this is all new and fun )
  9. I got myself a glass cutting tool today, and after a few practice sessions, some swearing and cursing, and my girlfriend stressing that I would end up spending the evening in hospital, I got the hang of it okay So I now have a nice tight fitting lid for my 20L killie tank. However.. what's the trick to get the edges of the glass nice and smooth? Currently if the glass slipped whilst picking it up would probably cost me the best part of a finger
  10. I have two skunks and three clowns, all just over 1" long the skunks have attitude, yes.. I wouldn't say agressive. They definitely like chasing at times, other times I see em hanging happily with all the other fish in the tank (b/n, guppies, tetras etc)
  11. I would love one too
  12. I have one of plantmans ozelot's, it's fantastic
  13. I have some hygro you can have
  14. They dig a lot which may make your U/G filter not so good. They also are messy fish so I would definitely recommend getting a cannister filter for them, one that could cycle the water in the tank somewhere between 5-10 times/hour.
  15. This may be a silly question.. but hey Some of my b/n fry seem very light, almost totally colourless (maybe 5-6 out of 110ish). Is this normal, or not, or are they albino?

    Baby b/n

well.... I now have twice as many lol - next batch of eggs hatched last thursday and they're all over the tank now. first batch are about 2cm, I've been given some good ideas for varying their diet, so hopefully they'll grow a bit faster too
  17. Well at a wild guess... the warranty would be on the skimmer since he/she mentions it's somewhat new... Just a thought... but hey... nothing like abusing the n00bs
  18. heheh.. yeah, It was sitting all over the top of the tank, so this was an experiment
  19. yeah, wrapped over a rock with some black mesh stuff so it doesn't float away. hopefully will grow from there and hide the mesh
  20. I do have a truckload of java moss spare, so yeah, will tie it around the spraybar when I move it.
  21. Fine! I will then!
  22. Cheers for the comments... I'll definitely move the heater, I think I have a cunning place I can hide it Any thoughts on the filter inlet and outlet being at the same end of the tank, just in different corners? (i.e. 2' apart). I was thinking of having the spraybar vertically pointing down the tank away from the inlet, hopefully creating flow throughout the tank so i don't get dead spots.
  23. I like it! well done.
