  1. I've been recommended by a guy at my LFS (he didn't work there, he was another customer) to dab some iodine solution (at first he just said iodine and I was like ) on the little guy and this will kill whatever it is. Should this be ok?
  2. My remaining clown loach, who just recovered from white spot, has now got some White/clearish stringlike things attached to his fins, the longest is about 5mm but most are smaller. Does anyone have any idea what the heck these are and what I can do to kill them?
  3. No problem T&V, we were all beginners once  The copper sulfate was sold as 'Snail Away' in an aquarium store (goldfish pagoda). As per how much I'm adding, I'm just following the instructions, not sure what ratio it is.
  4. Just last week I treated my 4ft for white spot (my clown loaches got it) using copper sulfate and salt, it has 4 (maybe 5) Khuli loaches in it and they're doing fine.
  5. I wouldn't worry about it. The white spot parasite is commonly present in most freshwater, but as long as fish are healthy and stress free they usually don't get infected.
  6. When fish first get white spot it's usually on their gills so it's unnoticable at first. It usually escalates from there though and becomes visible. If they do develop it, to treat it I reccomend copper sulfate (often sold as snail killer but kills all invertabrites, including the Ich parasite - it's less stressfull on the fish than normal medications too) and a bit of salt (Ich can't stand anything over 3ppm).
  7. Very impressive! How old is it?
  8. "I am Mr Do. I am sedentary by nature, enjoying passive entertainment, eating when the mood takes me, and playing with my food. I try to avoid conflict, but when I'm angered, I can be a devil - if you force me to fight, I will crush you. With apples." I actually resent this because Mr Do was a rip off of Dig Dug (which was much better in my opinion).
  9. www.fishtankstands.co.nz does it too
  10. Why not just normal cheapo steak? Eye fillet's pretty expensive
  11. I may be digging up an old topic here, but these are my Angels: The left one's the female, right's the male. Quite similar looking to yours too Caryl!
  12. Spirulina is quite healthy, at least that's what my dad tells me - he drinks it all the time.
  13. Glad to hear everything worked out & that some Gambusia got killed 8)
  14. I've got a bit of this stuff too, good to know that Flourish Excel gets rid of it.
  15. From my understanding it's quite hard to get plecos to breed - they lay their eggs in muddy banks.
  16. Comparing the photos, to me they look like Gambusia.
  17. How big are the tanks? What do you mean 'run'? For the UG filter or just for aeration?
  18. heheh yeah they're not for fish :-? . They just enhance your natural anabolic process which means your muscles regenerate faster which means you can work out more. They're also illegal to use if you're not prescribed them. Scary.
  19. Anabolic steroids. That'll put some hair on their backs.
  20. That's hairgrass, as discussed in the other Christmas moss topic in this forum
  21. In my experiences Clown loaches are very prone to sickness. They don't have scales. I'd advise you to add them later on.
  22. I've added a picutre of my new male betta that I got today to my 4ft, check it out
