  1. been keeping an eye on them Jody and there is enough pots to go around with a spare so no agro yet, seems ok but time will tell.
  2. Also they seem to like it tipped this way even if they leave the eggs at ground level Still always ready to try a new idea
  3. Makes sence Alan if they were other fish in that tank to eat the eggs but thats purly bristlenose and like Mystic says they like to beout the light. Also tipped up backwards would be like handing the eggs to other fish on a plate I'd have thought ? I'm guessing the breeder was Kim and she sure knows what she's doing so will think about maybe changing a couple of the pots and see which the BN choose to use , nothing to lose , Thanks for the idea
  4. Thanks its the wifes cichlid tank really I just look after the other 34
  5. Yes we almost filled our 99% , if we go any more it leaks thru the rim plastic even though its not over the rim. have had no problems with it like that . Good luck As you can see full
  6. Hi Shark and welcome To give you an idea whats Mystic means , i set up a Bristlenose breeding tank today ( Always need more clean up crews ) set up with pots on a sandy base, i've not put any wood in yet but as Mystic says it is a good idea. i've put 4 pairs of adult bristlenose in there with lots of places to choose from, fingers crossed and waiting now Lots of good food, pleco chips and zuccini and all should be good. Good luck
  7. sounds right , a pretty tight fit tho , no leak on mine there Its a rubbery connection with a black gromit to hold it in place
  8. Hi We have one of those tank and have had no problems , I'd carefully check where the waters leaking from because it must be something not connected correctly , either that or the spray bar with the holes in it is on back to front , the part that connects to the rubber glove should not have holes in it for about the first 8 cm , and the holes go right to the other end, check is this is on back to front.
  9. they still look awesome Caryl
  10. This is one of mine Lynda, its the guy in the middle and the daddy of a heap of my fry But from what i remeber Caryls were stunning

  12. I currently have 1 female in a tank that also has 4 smallish angels and there is no problem but it is a large ( 700L) tank so i'm betting they don't run into each other that much.
  13. I'll cut back then, i really do enjoy just pottering with the tanks and cleaning etc , after thinking all day at work its nice to just switch to Auto and potter
  14. Yes you did so how many THIS time ??
  15. The females look bulkere, rounder than the males and the males tend to be a little brighter / more colourful . they may be other ways i've heard it also has something to do with there black markings but not sure. If you have about 5 or six , feed them all up as I did I fed mine well for about 10 days plenty of live mozzie lava and blood worm, then poped them all into a home made plastic mess breeding net, still fed them heaps of mozzies and next morning the bottom of the tank was covered in eggs, the tank had a sponge filter going which i turn down low. I left the adults there for another 24 hours as they could not get to there eggs then return them to there Barb tank. I placed some crushed up lettace leaves in the tank with the eggs to grown some inforsoria and left them, 4 - 5 days later i had heaps for fry sticking to the sides of the tank .....
