I have had a particular snail in my tank from the first piece of LR I picked up at HFF 6 years ago. I havent seen it in my new tank (7mths old) till this afternoon. I am totally amazed, this snail has gone threw 3 tank moves and been put in my brother tank for 6 mths and it is still alive. I know its the same one as it has never laid eggs and its the only one like that I have ever had. If it pops up again I will try and get a photo, it is so covered in coraline it is really hard to make out on the rocks
I have a bag of clacium chloride dehydrate from med chem. I am trying to find out the % of cal chloride per bag. Does anyone know how you can find this out as I cant find it on the bag
i paired my maroons 3 years ago. I had a HUGE anemone which I think helped. I put the other in expecting the worst but they were both happy together. I had a container setup just in case though. The mate I put in was half the size of the other clown
I had a cleaner for over a year, a great fish cleaned everyone but my maroon clowns who didnt like him. It jumped unfortunately but I would definately recomend them if you have ws issues.Mine ate mysis without a problem and was happy in the tank
my blue tang did the same thing a few years ago when my heat dropped to 22.5 at night for a while, doubt its whitespot though but likely some sort of parasite that goes away
My mag used to be at 1200, in the last month I have had it between 1300 and 1350 and have noticed an increase in hair algae, just my opinion though and I may have been overfeeding also
I have thought about the cost and felt once I included my time and petrol etc it was cheaper to use asw than nsw. It takes less than 5 mins to make 80l of asw, but it would take me 3 hours to collect nsw. Do that once every month and the $200 I spend on asw per annum is cheap. Not too mention I know what I am putting in my tank and dont have to worry about rain etc
my overflow is 180 by 600 long, I have only just enough room to fit the 3 pipes in, had I moved the holes further forward in the tank I probably wouldnt have a problem. I will post some photos later
Well nearly, finished all the doors etc just some trim to go and its all done, only taken a year to get here, wife is very happy lol, soory for the bad photos used wrong camera settings

I have a center overflow on my tank. If I was to do it again I would get an external overflow, but really depends on how many sides your tank is viewable from and how close to the wall it is. I also have my return coming through my overflow, keeps everything tidy but vibrates on the tank(not sure how to get rid of the vibration) again I would probably make it an external return next time
i print out a calander from the net, have the last 5 years of everything I have ever done to the tank( Ca, alk additions, deaths new fish additions etc)
I would have thought reefs and crackers tanks looked good because of their constant parameters(cal, alk etc) rather than their lighting, both their tanks are about the same size and have different amounts of lighting
