have some stock in the tank, most is still in my old tank so will have to dose in low amounts

thanks for the reply wasp, I have a deltec ap850 and around 1000l so i think it should cope, might give it a try this weekend

is there any advantage or disadvantage in dosing vodka do a tank thats only 6 weeks old. I have a hair algae outbreak would vodka help to lessen this or cause problems with the tank while its so young

I started with a fish only, and it has slowly evolved over the last 5 years into a reef. I regret getting some of my earlier fish which werent reef safe

i have the same stock as petplanet but also an anemone, it is doing ok but not thriving(could be as I havent changed the bulbs in 2 years), my new tank has t5's that are approx 500 w of power

my power bill was $130 last month, with 2 tanks running(one set of lights though), go the fluros

imo cleaner shrimps and fire shrimps dont do a damm thing for parisites anyway. I have 2 cleaners and 1 fire shrimp and it wasnt until I added a cleaner wrasse that i found out how many parisites my blue tang actually had, he had brown welts for about 2 weeks where the wrasse had removed them

just interested in knowing how old is your oldest fish. My oldest are a blue tang (4.5 years) and a maroon striped clown(5 years)

looks very promising i brought a house a year ago, one of the deciding factors was the vacant wall that suited a decent sized tank

make sure you get the ones with the union coupling at each end(still blue), most people seem to get them for around $25-30 each

i got 2 from marine depot in the states, they can make them 240v also if you request so no need for a transformer

i have used stop parasites, worked well for me. I have cleaner shrimp and also a cleaner wrasse, my blue tang is very happy

hhf has the tunze regulator for 120 or something near that price

my bro is putting a small tank under his closed loops which drain back into his sump, just in case

I dont use gloves, but I will when i move my brothers tank next week, his anemone packs a real wallop
