  1. Very clamped up fins. What is the Ph? And follow the instructions on the med's. Shell
  2. Hi, If it was me, I would give them a waterchange, seen as lots of food been going in to tempt them. Make sure tank is right temp as jags tend to sulk if tank is to cool. Don't feed them except for putting in some feeders. And just leave them be for awhile. And don't feed them twice a day. It doesn't hurt to even miss aday here and there. And unless you know for sure that your fish has internal worms etc you shouldn't treat them. If they haven't got a problem you soon will have.as treatments screw with the water. Have you checked for babies? Mine used to not move much when they had babies, did attack my hand when I got to close. Anyways just an opinion. But give it a go, it's not going to hurt them.Waterchange(that way if there is ammonia levels they will drop. Some live feeders won't pollute water, not like uneaten food will. Don't feed them anything else. Chill for a week and see if the feeders dissappear. Shell
  3. Hi Herefishiefishie, Will look up that site today. Thanks so much for the info. Will PM ya later today about the ones at 100 each. Hi Ryanjury, Good to hear about Bob, I'll try and get hold of Gavin see if he can send me some pic's of the guy's. It is funny seeing all the little guys on the forum, I feel like a grandma/great grandma possibly great great grandma :slfg: So good seeing them. To all the fronnie owners out there, keep up the good work, keep those update pic's going. Glad to hear you can get all the variants :bounce: Just save heaps, they are worth it, and a wholesaler won't say no when ya flash the bucks in front of him,he will bring them in. If I ever come back to NZ(home) I will be ordering :happy1: Shelley
  4. Hi guys, I had Maf arrive on my door in nz, They said that as they were adults by then and I had already distributed babies Nz wide they were safe as houses, as for bringing in new ones well!!!!! So all you fronnie lovers show off those fronnie pics. Hi herefishiefishie, What is the going rate for moba's that you can get? I can get them for $250 each, thats off a Aquarium shop here in Bundy. shelley
  5. hi guy's, The two imports in were burundi, I bought the first lot of a guy or what he had left, some had died. I then got some brought in. Nothing ever came in a kigoma, just burundi/frontosa. Yes I had one that had seven bars (male) and the other male (big boy bob) six bars. Big boy did all the breeding, unless the other fella was sneaky. Anyway burundi frontosa . I bought some overhere, burundi 6 one of them has seven bars, so i bought 5 seven bars kigoma, two seperate tanks now. there is quite a difference colour wise and wether it just be the extra stripe but the 7 bars look more slender not so stocky. But in saying that my eyesight is not as good as it used to be. Getting some Moba's, buying 2 at a time exspensive, should have them next week. At least the difference will be well clear, quite a mask they have and the colour :bounce: :bounce: Its only taken almost 5 years, can't wait I'll be in fishie heaven I reckon. when i got the first lot, the kids reckoned i didn't stop smiling for weeks. One of my daughters caught me talking to them, saying goodnight. She thinks i'm quite mad. Anyways better go got to do some gardening. Shelley
  6. Hi, Does anyone know how Redwood Aquatic's and Bob are doing. Shelley
  7. Our computor cooked cos of the heat i guess, craig went overboard got this big flash bugger that i don't know how to use properly, Neither do the Aussie's.I will have to wait for craig to fix me up downloading the cool pix's i have dog's and fish. Spend alot of time watching fish in the wild rather than keeping them.BUT will get the fronts i desire.Everything takes time for once fish our last prioity. Anyway I don't suggest keeping any fish with frontosa's if you want them to breed successfully. If you just want a tank with fronts and heaps other fish, but no eggs(fronts they are sookes won't stick up for eggs)then have a cool looking tangi tank. If ya wanna breed them and enjoy them bigtime, just have front's! And baby them, enteract with them as much as possible have your hand in the tank heaps. Don't feed everyday day, try every second or third day, they will come out and feed out of your hand. And they won't starve in between times. Hope this is of help. shell
  8. Hi Guys long time no talk! It shell here, don't stress about your fronts just enjoy an gain their trust. They do perfer their light to be slightly more melow. Don't panic! Handfeed as much as possible. You lucky buggers I so miss that. I have a very tame marine tank and two breeding bullterriers now. Fronts to come! shell
  9. Hi nimbo freak, My fronts held early too, but can't remember exactly, it was along time ago They didn't hold properly till they were around 4yrs and as they got older their mouthfuls got bigger. In the early days I think they were just practising, abit like discus takes time to get it right. Don't strip eggs until each girl has successfully held(fulterm) no matter how tempted you are  as they won't hold at all after that. I did strip a couple of my girls but only after yrs of them doing the natural thing. And they would still hold after that naturally. You never know thou she might surprise ya. shell
  10. congrad's  Awesome pic's, hope she holds for ya. shell

  15. hi there, How old is the system? how many treatments have gone into main tank? why i ask is that in the photo of the mollie which you thought had velvet(previous post) your water was very cloudy, which is not a good sign. cloudy water is a good sign of toxic water ie ammonia, which will make fish itch.clamp fins etc.the damage done to the fish after a ammonia spike can still keep killing them for months. your problem might not have even been a desease or parasite, all the treating of the tank will kill the good bacteria in your filter making for a very unstable tank. this is just another senerio to look at if there is no visible signs of desease or parasite. you could just take out all fish and quareentine them and let the main tank settle for a few weeks( clean out filter). this is just my thoughts, i hope this is of some help. shell
