  1. hah yea add the others asap to give her some company. speakin of swimmin fast i had a fish the other day jam itself between the bottom of the tank and overflow pipe..had to take off the pipe to get it free it won't mind the cooler temps
  2. yip.. heaps of ponds are getting slimey at the moment from the large amount of sun
  3. Whetu you'd still be ok for another month. And try putting your bin somewhere else. excess fish can be sold or brought inside.
  4. WHOA! sweet DA! that's rocking. what kind of discus do you have? great to see people still cranking with the discus!! i haven't got any now but i really want some more. if in basement without lights the tanks will stay clean. esp with the industrious looking water change equipment there :bounce:
  5. fish are from neptune.... that's freaky but cool
  6. DANG IT!! theft is way too rife ay.. quite shocking that new "real life" show with those young umm 'chaps' who were shown blatently going around stealing stuff and hopefully reforming find the bike?
  7. seperate them dude. for 2 weeks condition up. one pair is fine. you could od 1m/2f but the other f may eat the eggs while the other 2 do their "barrel rolls" that occurs during their spawning. put them together in afternoon, they will almost certainly breed in the morning with peat in the water. it should turn the water a nice muddy brown. yes it lowers pH and hardness, perfect. i got a big yellow bag of "hauraki peat" from palmers just check no fertilisers added
  8. yip one pair is fine..give it a try! glowlights breed nice and easy i'm amazed more people don't do it. and yip i'd black the tank out i just cover with a few towels once you have eggs, leave for 4-5 days this is when the egg sack is used up, they will be free-swimming, and you can begin feeding them greenwater, then microworm/baby brine shrimp, then baby daphnia/mossie larvae, then crushed flake etc
  9. nice mate! looks like some good sized ones "**** outta here if ya ain't down with th' clown!"
  10. oh dear!!! yeah that is rather important. after a while you can tell by the colour if it is hatched, should look orange not brown like the shell colour. if they are still hanging in their egg it looks brown.
  11. keep an eye out for Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans then i worked on it and just did an interview about my time on set with a couple of american review dudes via skype. though it focuses more on the lycans aka werewolves than vampires in this one.
  12. I think you meant "streaks" lol Alanmin is right.....it can only come down to the singularity that is personal accountability. The fundamental problem is a lot of humans, particularly teenagers, like to rebel, and, it is easier to be lazy than it is to be personally accountable. it's monkey see monkey do if you know what i mean.
  13. whoa that is seriously awesome! gotta see some pics! clowns are really awesome sights when they get big..i only got a few bigger ones but love them. lol R32 do you like the insane clown posse? they got some wicked tracks
  14. could you clarify this please? sorry doesn't make sense to me
  15. doin' some dealin' in the old 'exotics' ay?
  16. ouu...that's no good! regarding identifying them you could put in the palm of your hand and gently hold down with your thumb to check the finnage. also they are totally colourless...you can get female guppies like this but amongst them would likely be males..they will have some colour and the caudal (tail) fin will be broader

    New discus

HOLY MOLY! that is FANTASTIC! that's the best planted nz discus tank i've seen so far very well done mate. it's probably the most challenging to pull off too....because the size of discus and their bright colours can sometimes not blend in with the rest of the aquascape. but you hit the nail on the head......tree root type driftwood and big leafy ferns. what is that tall one with the runners? and wow those discus are brilliant that red/orange pigeon....full kudos to discusguru! yeah i've always loved the blue snakeskins ay...something about them. ps in your 2nd to last pic i note you've got a confused neon tetra (top, middle) wondering why he can't get jiggy with his larger cardinal cousins
  18. i just thought of that vodafone ad "make the most of now" lol.....i wonder what other subliminal tactics marketers have employed out there? i guess there's been a large rise in (seemingly?) long periods of interest-free hire purchase items
  19. maybe it's like a car boot sale swapmeet where you pull up with dark sunnies on and 'pop ya trunk' and deal your fish out of the back?
  20. lol in this case summed up the confusion of your original post. even more lol is you answered my post but not the others! in seriousness it does sound interesting though........what are you proposing??
  21. complacency ay... "i can so i will" attitude....sums up well the attitude of many out there today.. quite amusing i still hear hyped up ads on the radio for noel leeming, harvey norman etc ranting on about so many days interest free... i'm only 25, have good savings, went 6 months without work (voluntarily) and spent very little. now i'm working again i just spend more. it is good to have cash coming in so i can start to buy outlandish things like the 2 amps for my flash car. yes, all bought cash, even the average-sized student loan is nearly paid off. maybe it is cyclic and the next generation will not be so "now now now" and give in to temptation. bear in mind the peer pressure too.. i had an old granny car for years and years so i could save for a better one. that of course did not stop derogatory comments from various people about it at the time. alas, they'll be the ones hurting now in the credit crunch.
  22. bummer to lose those fish man...bad run! keep an eye on your fries. yea i got half a dozen clowns and they survived a (probable) zinc poisoning that killed many other fish.
